In partnership with Boeing Company, Urban Aeronautics has also joined forces with Ascent, Asia’s tech-powered urban air mobility service, to bring CityHawk eVTOL to the market. Urban Aeronautics is a hydrogen-powered electric air taxi developer, it has designed and developed an unmanned VTOL aircraft, Cormorant, which is used for different military and emergency response missions and also civil missions.
The next project of Urban Aeronautics is commuter air taxis, this company aims to accelerate the commercialization of its hydrogen/electric-powered VTOL aircraft, CityHawk. Due to its compact body, VTOL aircraft has small footprint, as size of an SUV, yet it provides a seating capacity for up to six passengers.
Compared to a helicopter in the same category, CityHawk offers upgraded space and comfort. The cabin is 50% larger than that helicopter, this can be achieved due to the absence of the overhead engines and transmissions, it also eliminates almost all of vibration and noise. As an air taxi, CityHawk eVTOL from Urban Aeronautics provides spacious cabin that results in more passengers per trip and more arrivals and departures, this air transportation offers high efficiency and higher profit margins for the operators.
