Futuristic Toyota e-Palette is a concept mobility services platform (MSPF) to meet future demands of multi-mode transportation. Unveiled at CES 2018, this concept vehicle could be the basic design of connected mobility solution of Toyota’s flexible and purpose-built vehicle. Automobile industry has gone through most dramatic period of change as technologies (especially automated driving) has made significant progress. Toyota explains that the company is committed to make ever better cars and mobility solutions to allow its consumers to enjoy lives even more, Toyota wants to be a part in creating ever-better society for the next century and beyond.
e-Palette can create new relationship in a broad-based ecosystem, hardware and software, to help range of companies to utilize advanced mobility technology to better serve its customers. Toyota has a vision for Automated Mobility, it should serve as Service applications, since it is fully automated, this battery electric vehicle is designed to be customizable.
To support services that use Toyota’s MSPF, the company offers open vehicle control interface along with a set of software tools, which enable partner companies to install their own automated driving system and management technology. Toyota’s Guardian technology would then act as a safety net from partner company’s automated driving system, making sure appropriate operation of the vehicle.
