Lunar Recreational Vehicle is a concept design study project between young designers of studiokurbos and Jason Song, a young designer from College for Creative Studies (CCS). Driven by the idea of possible recreational journey over the moon, it’s an ambitious idea where idea takes advantage of the moon’s low gravity. It’s a futuristic project that encourages us to rethink the concept of off-road vehicles beyond Earth. Every idea starts with a simple sketch, that’s why the design of this vehicle follows simple yet striking form, it combines aesthetics and functionality without compromising its performance. Since there’s no constraints of gravity, it opens new possibilities for shapes and structures that allow for unusual mobility and off-road performance in a unique landscape.
Designed for another planet, Lunar Recreational Vehicle comes with a new approach to mobility beyond Earth. Traditional automotive principles don’t apply to this vehicle, this concept was inspired by space travel and promises new perspective on adventure in an environment where freedom of movement is not restricted.
studiokurbos understands that the unique condition of the moon allows for innovative design. Unlike Earth, weight is not restricted on the moon, hence, Lunar Recreational Vehicle has light yet robust structure. Its futuristic shape is the result from combination of aesthetics and practicality, even though it’s lightweight, the design ensures great stability and adaptability especially in extreme conditions. Every proportion is designed with attention to detail, it has to move effortlessly and efficiently through this alien landscape.
Lunar Recreational Vehicle is more than just visionary project, it aims to encourage people to imagine the possibility of space travel. In not so distant future, we might enjoy lunar tourism or exploration, this project aims to propose a new type of mobility beyond the Earth.
