Piggy Bank is a traditional name for penny box, Fruition is a modern penny box that encourages you to save your coins. It looks like the designer has explored semiotic relationships between human and sign symbols of an object to get better understanding how emotional reactions a user may have when they experience the design. The design of Fruition was inspired by a fruit tree that naturally drops its fruits when they are ripe. Just like its name suggest, Fruition is a fruit-shaped penny box attached on its tree by a magnet. When the container is fully of coins, and the weight reaches a certain level, it would drop from its tree with a clang sound.

Younghyun Kim has designed Fruition Penny Box to encourage user to save your coins, when it drops to the tray at the bottom, it delivers a sense of accomplishment. It’s time to harvest all your collected coins. Made of silicone and magnets, Fruition would make sure your coins do not leak. You can reuse it over and over again, no need to break the fruit to get all your coins.
