FARMARS: Mars Vegetable-Delivery Robot for Martians

Sometime in the future, humans might migrate and start living on Mars. In this scenario, FARMARS is a space farm robot that supports Martians’ food supply. In not so distant future, perhaps in 2035, we can safely live on this new planet, prepare and cultivate land on Mars for farming. FARMARS would become farming robot that cultivates and delivers vegetables safety to Martians. It would become an important part in the ecosystem as resource on Mars is limited, we have to control food supply while saving as many resources as possible. Greenhouse smart farming might be one of possible future systems where robot arms can be utilized to cultivate and harvest vegetables and then FARMARS Robot would deliver them to us.

FARMARS Farm Robot Concept for Mars by Jihyun Kim, Hayoung Yoo, and Seoyeon Yun would become the first space farm brand that helps the first generation of Martians to survive. The main goal is to turn barren, lifeless planet into energetic one just like Earth. Our Mars habitat might be designed to be smooth, clean, and comfortable, however, Mars environment is so different, it’s very rocky with volcanoes, canyons, and crater all over it. keeping this in mind, FARMARS is equipped with adjustable wheels that change to adapt to the rough environment. FARMARS is also equipped with ridar sensors to help us gather more information about Mars’ environment.
