At first sight, you can already see Embrace Sideboard boasts unique joints, overlapping layers, and soft curves. It’s not your conventional sideboard/buffet, it has multi elements combined together to create a modern and stylish furniture. The curved plywood band plays an important role to the overall appearance, it looks like hugging the overall unit, hence the name “Embrace”.

Embrace starts with its leg joint. João Teixeira has specifically designed in a away that those curved shapes can blend together yet it creates visually appealing contrast at the same time. The goal of this project was to have a minimal approach on design language then balanced with functionality through creative solution for storage and cable management. There are two side drawers with vertical opening and an open shelf at the bottom where you can place magazines, remote controls, or books. The upper cabinet has some gap where you can pass through cables for your electrical devices.
