Drop – A Compact, Eco-Friendly Water Bottle Can Decompose in One Month

Submitted by Hans Ramzan, a British product designer, Drop is an award-winning, eco friendly water bottle. It encourages you to get hydrated throughout the day. It’s a common knowledge that plastic bottles have bad impacts on the environment, it’s going to take more than 700 years for them to dissolve.

Drop is made entirely from plants with main goal of reducing negative environmental impact. It’s manufactured from PLA (a bioplastic fermented from plant starch such as sugarcane, corn, cassava, or sugar beet pulp), the lid is made from locally sourced natural cork. This water container takes only just one month to fully biodegrade.

Do you know that there are around 75% people of western society who are chronically dehydrated? and this number rises further for developing countries. Sufficient water in your body helps for better metabolism and leads to a healthier lifestyle. DROP has been design to encourage people to drink more water. Beautifully designed, Drop is comfortable to use, it’s small enough to keep in your bag, a compact product that would potentially save a lot of people. However, we think this water bottle is too small, it can hold only 156ml of water, it’s impractical for those who need to drink lots of water on daily basis. But the company explains that the reason this bottle is so small is to force people to have a habit to refill the bottle regularly with fresh water.

Drop by Hans Ramzan basically has three main features: sustainable, unique, and encourage new approach to keep hydrated. It’s a beautiful accessory that won’t weigh your bag.
