Dream Building is a personal projects submitted by Vuk Nemaja Zoraja to Tuvie. It’s actually a rework of an old project that he did in 2014.
Dream Building is a special building concept that Vuk designed in his dream. As someone who can’t easily forget his dreams, as soon as he woke up he decided to draw that unique building he remembered so clearly. It was a short dream, yet he could remember a lot of details from it. Let’s hear about Vuk’s dream using his own words:
I was seating in an office with two architects and we were presented with a task of designing a building that would have been inspired by geometrical shapes of square, circle and spiral to be more precise, they were busy with other projects so design fell on me which was exciting because I was a new in the office.
I came up with the idea to use a square for the base of the building and then to cut the corners of every floor with that cut out moving by one corner per floor to create a spiral shape of the building. In those openings I placed floor to ceiling windows and doors which create the illusion that there is a glass cylinder going through the entire building and that would imply that there is a circle in the base of it.
Vuk Nemaja Zoraja explains that once he woke up from that weird dream, right away he turned his computer on and did the drawing for real this time. Hence the name of this project is Dream Building. Furthermore, Dream Building is a design homage to two of his favorite buildings from his hometown Pančevo – Serbia (Central and SK12), which were both designed by Danilodangubic Architects.
Central is a building made with pink terrazzo and SK12 is a building cladded with gold panels, they are both represented here in a cylinder shaped building spiraling together to the new heights.
Tuvie has received “Dream Building” project from our ‘Submit A Design‘ feature, where we welcome our readers to submit their design/concept for publication.
