It’s a normal thing when preschoolers play around with their friends in kindergarten, but there were times when they have to stay at home, experiencing contact-free society in the most important period of expending their creativity. Doodle is a concept device that wants to reduce the negative effect due to contact-free period. It’s a multisensory education and play fabric display that would nurture children’s emotional sympathy even though they have to study and play without their friends. Inspired by the concept of children drawing together on the wall, Doodle wants to increase the sympathy in children through a fun and natural way using multisensory communication with friends even from being apart.

Doodle multisensory fabric display by Hyungwoo Lee is a concept device that would encourage children to interact with other children. Nowadays, there are many children don’t have an environment where they can easily play with friends, they turn into a smart device that provides immediate stimulation and reward. Science has highlighted that children under six or seven years old are at the best age where creativity might grow actively. Their imaginations need to be unfolded and they develop much faster through physical play and interactions with friends.

Just like this project name, the idea was born from children happily doodling on a wall together. Keeping this in mind, Hyungwoo made an attempt to design a device, a magical wall where children can feel as if they’re being together and playing lively through various sensory stimulation while being apart. It’s a cool way to communicate where children can feel as if they’re together even when they are apart thanks to multisensory materials and tactile interaction of the soft fabric display.

Doodle reads child’s thoughts with their fingertips, the LED lights under the densely woven fabric stand surface would magically follow finger scan and provide visual tactile feedback. Those densely woven strands even maximize tactile stimulation when children press its surface. They can play together with friends at other places, from drawing imaginary characters to create a creative story, Doodle expands children imagination and creativity without physical limitations.
