Daihatsu Motor Co. shows off four concept cars at Tokyo Motor Show 2019, they all carry the theme of “Gathering: providing warmth to everyone’s lives”. Each car would provide energy to people and communities all over Japan.
These four concept cars have been named based on their usage scenarios in daily lives and the feeling that people would feel when using them: IcoIco and Nipote, TsumuTsumu, WaiWai, and WakuWaku. They sound pretty cute name right?
Daihatsu IcoIco and Nipote offers a public transportation as first and last mile vehicle. It’s an autonomous transportation that supports free movement of people, it has rectractable slope for easy entry and exit of all passengers, including wheelchair users or holidaymakers with large pieces of luggage. Nipote is the name of a care robot that comes with IcoIco, it provides verbal assistance for mobility lifestyles.
Daihatsu TsumuTsumu is the next generation of mini-truck. This concept vehicle features a large cabin for easy entry and exit and a spacious cargo bed. This mini truck caters to diverse usage situation, an ideal form of mobility to support future Japanese lifestyles. The replaceable cargo feature allows for possible range of uses in addition to traditional usage situation.
Daihatsu WaiWai, is a compact mini van with nice cabin space. The spacious interior encourages users to go out and have fun. The cabin features a three-row, six-seater, perfect for multiple passengers to go out with style. The sunroof design achieves a spacious interior with a sense of openness.
Daihatsu WakuWaku is a concept mini SUV that opens up to new categories of enjoyment. It inspires users to simply load up and go to wherever they want to go, it has convenient cargo space with roof luggage space.
