Hakan Gürsu has submitted its latest concept to Tuvie, D-Cap. It’s a special project that was honored in German Design Award 2021 with gold award. D-Cap is a double-sided disinfection cap, specially designed for needle-free connectors which are used in hospitals. The design makes this cap compatible with both ends of the connector. This little cap helps to support practical use as well as saves storage.
Hakan Gürsu of Designnobis explains that when connector enters the system, the disinfectant solution is exposed. That foldable plastic cover allows the open side to be closed. The triangular form is chosen because it provides an ergonomic grip. D-Cap concept provides hygienic connection of medical tubing and convenient, it’s a smart solution to simplify medical process and reduce the risk of infection.
