It’s a condition where breastbone protrudes excessively, it affects about 1 in 400 children. This brace works similar to orthodontic braces on teeth, it’s a kind of treatment that involves compression over time to correct bone development. Unfortunately, the existing chest-wall brace design is barely changed in the last 100 years, it’s uncomfortable, difficult to wear, as well as difficult to disguise.
Stuart Cole teamed up with PDR Design to come up with modern version of chest-wall brace. It helps to eliminate the feelings of stigmatization and isolation for patients who are typically teenage boys. The modern design of Brace allows this chest-wall brace to fit neatly and discreetly beneath clothes, it is more comfortable for the patient while being clinically effective and reducing stigma from this condition.
