BlackBerry is back with BlackBerry KEYone, it’s entirely new designed phone, distinctly different. This smartphone reimagines how we communicate and work with our phone and finally, it is powered by Android.
The body is made of strong aluminum frame with impact resistant display, it is built to last. The soft-grip textured back makes it comfortable to hold and prevent accidental slip from your hand. BlackBerry claims that its smart keyboard is currently word’s most advanced keyboard that helps you do several tasks on your phone faster and easier. Well, it looks like the keyboard design is way much better than BlackBerry Passport, hopefully it also works better.
Update: BlackBerry also released BlackBerry Motion, it’s a similar phone with larger screen and battery but without keyboard.
BlackBerry KEYone is designed with 4.5-inch touch display with impact and scratch resistant Gorilla Glass 4. The keyboard allows you to set up to 52 customizable shortcuts, you can transform each letter key for quick access to your favorite apps. The brain of this smartphone is Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 platform with Qualcomm Adreno 506 GPU. The rear camera features 12MP with leading camera sensor from Sony IMX378, it captures sharp and crisp photos in any light. The front camera is 8MP with flash. The wide aperture lens feature large 1.5555μm pixels and dual-tone flash to deliver superior color and clarity photos.
