Designed for elderly, AXIS is a concept smart wristband that helps for faster evacuation during natural disasters. After interviewing many community members, the design team made several notes regarding senior citizens’ ability to evacuate during natural disaster especially hurricanes. To help with this issue, AXIS has been designed. It’s a smart wristband that collects and synthesizes personal data to help safely evacuate senior citizens in an emergency situation.
Designed by Macie Whitbeck, Lillian Hubbell, Valerie Nuñez, AXIS collects personal data, which is then sent to FEMA where they can prepare everything that might be needed by these elderly people. AXIS CUI is able to guide user through the evacuation process, through streamlined government services, it is hoped that AXIS can reduce inequalities in our communities.
