Audi R5 Electric Sports Car Design Proposal for Audi by Maik Mueller

R5 is a concept electric sports car design proposal for Audi. It’s a future vision how an Audi car would look like in the future. The scenario for that period of time would show that sports cars would be more and more rare due to the development of more useful vehicles such as autonomous cars. The Audi R5 concept is an attempt to answer the question “how would a sports car look like in that time?”

Designed by Maik Mueller as his diploma project, Audi R5 electric sports car was inspired by the legendary Auto Union Type C, it is also designed to demonstrate how the design language of Audi could change in the next 20 years. The formal design principal is basically a combination between sculptural and technical parts of “soft” and “hard”. So visually, there is a maximum contrast between those two form languages, similar to a Sci-fi cyborg or human robot.
