Philip Frenzel, a German engineering student, has patented a possible solution to prevent cracked smartphone screen, ADcase. This Active Damping Case protects your phones from damage from accidental fall, whether it’s water damage, scrapes, cracks, or just anything in between. ADcase is designed with multiple sensors to detect when the phone is in free-fall, then automatically release four springs to make phone bounce when it hits the ground.

Designed by Philip Frenzel, ADcase is still at concept stage, but hopefully the final design doesn’t add significant bulk to the phone. Once those metal springs are deployed, they can be pushed back into the case, it is completely reusable. One thing though, we are not sure that this case can help protect the phone that fall into an uneven surface or jagged edge.
