Versus Toilet by Vasil Velchev

Versus is a concept toilet with V-shape submitted by Vasil Velchev. You can read his explanation about this project in his own words.

All started with the shape. I wanted to create something with the first letter of my name, “V” in its feature. So i started with the side view …. and then the idea slowly developed to its current view. I also wanted to have something new in the functionality as well, so I used the tilted tank to achieve more water efficiency. This modification will change the water path. Now the elbow effect (90-degree) can be avoided and the water can flow through the pipe smoothly and with smaller resistance. Now, the water flow can be transformed from turbulent to laminar. Another third flush volume is included which allows the customer to use less water for small sanitary needs.

In order to save material, the cap of the seat will cover only the empty field inside, without unnecessary overlaying. Also this type of click into each other will give us minimal overall thickness. All this modifications put this product into a clash with traditional norms. Versus is in Latin and means ‘against’. So it is my product with its design and functionality against the traditional.

The creation of a product requires a good balance between functionality and design and if we want the product to be economical that makes it even more difficult. Versus is a product that has exactly the balance. It combines new approaches and technologies of increasing efficiency, saving water and materials and at the same time all this good stuff hidden below a bold, monolith and extravagant design.
