This new compact dish rack has been designed in so that it fits the sink counter perfectly. The designers while designing this device have kept in mind the fact that it not only looks smart but also is compact enough to fit into the smallest of space provided. The design lets the pivoting spout to drain water directly into sink, thereby ensuring cleanliness and no water being on the dish rack or the plates. The plastic walls are also easy to clean thereby it helps in hiding the clutter of drying dishes. So this compact dish rack can be said to be a perfect companions for the kitchen.

This garbage disposing system is surely an appropriate alternative to the regular home sink in garbage which ensures that the food waste is composted rather than be sent down the drain. The device has been named as CompostAll, is placed under the sink and thereby it is a pretty convenient, discreet and odor free location for storing waste food with an alert light which indicates when the container is full and it also has easy carry and disposing of waste contents to the bigger container outside. Earlier this year, Toyota and Royal College of Art Students (RCA) have launched a creative partnership to promote innovative design for urban living, using Toyota’s new iQ city car as the inspiration. Students were asked to create an item that reflect the concept of ‘intelligent urban living’.
Yusuf Muhammad, was the winner of Living Room category and joint overall winner. His Yu Type design sits on the computer keyboard and allows ‘hunt and peck’ two fingered typists the opportunity to increase their speed and confidence. He is now thinking about developing the idea and hopes to include features like spell checking and predictive text to increase its appeal. Judges praised the way he addressed a social issue of an aging population within the urban context.

As they say there is time for everything, a time to weep, a time to laugh, a time to throw, a time to keep… well keeping time has been one fad that man has always been trying to do. The invention of clocks is the resultant of that. The new clock design by Jansen Lye is sure an innovative one. All it has is needles, one long and one short. There is no number, nothing, and the time is determined by the position of the needles. The clock looks cool and is completely adaptable to any given environment. A very simple yet unique design.
