Electric Dauphin is Designed to Run Almost Noiselessly For As Far As 300 Kilometers

Electric Dauphin is a pure electric vehicle. The best part is that one can charge it at home as one does to a cellular phone. For full charge a little over six hours is needed and can run almost 300 km in one charge. The vehicle was created as a smart vehicle which is cost efficient and environment friendly. It is designed in a manner that the electric motors are housed just inside the rear wheels of the vehicle. Touching a top speed of 150 kilometers per hour the vehicle is built with composite materials which guarantee high performances and safety standards. The car can communicate with the home computer wirelessly through the internet server, and users can receive information when needed, be it basics like maps, directions etc. This one is surely a class apart.

Citroën’s C-Métisse Car Concept at Festival of Speed at Goodwood This Year

One of the models that sure will grab eye balls at this year’s Festival of Speed at Goodwood would be the Citroën’s C-Métisse concept. Its appearance is the first in the UK for this 155mph supercar which made its debut at the 2006 Paris Motor Show.

It’s marked by front and rear gull-wing doors, with an cockpit that is “aviation-style”, the and is powered by a 208bhp V6 HDi diesel engine. Also there are two separate electric motors placed on the rear wheels, enabling a top speed of 155mph, and reaches 0-62mph in 6.2 seconds while producing a torque of 400Nm, all this while retaining exceptional fuel economy a whopping 45 miles per gallon on the combined cycle! and maintaining low-emissions. So just zip zap and zoom!

XNovo Three Wheeler from Sidam

After the popularity of three-wheelers is rising, started by Piaggio MP3, Gilero Fuoco and Vectrix, a French scooter importer Sidam try to enter the market by building another type of three-wheel scooter. But this time, instead of putting two wheels at the front, they decided to put the two wheels at the rear of the vehicle. Kinda remind me of Thai Tuk Tuk, but Xnovo concept is somehow some crossover between a minivan and Thai Tuk Tuk.

The design sketches seem to suggest that both rear wheels will be belt driven in the 500cc Piaggio-engined petrol version – although hybrid and fully electric versions are also on the cards, the latter featuring twin electric motors, one in each wheel hub. The luggage angle is definately a big part of the concept fot Sidam.

We’ll wait to learn more as the Xnovo moves towards a launch date rumoured to be late 2008. Price is expected to be around ?8000 for the 500cc model.

Nissan Pivo 2: 360-Degree Swiveler Electric Nissan Concept

It’s the new version of Nissa Pivo concept, first shown in 2005, the electric-powered, 360-degree swiveler. Now it’s the Pivo 2. Just the same as the first Pivo, its cabin rotates, eliminating the need for a reverse gear, though its in-wheel motors can propel it in any direction — even sideways. What’s new in the Pivo 2 is its in-car Robotic Agent, a voice-recognition interface (in English or Japanese) to a valet application that can engage in a range of communications from basic vehicle functions to the closest parking space. It looks like a cartoon car, but I really like the design.
