Cojoy : Bicycle for Two Persons That Was Inspired By Dual Paddle Boat and A Wheelchair

Cojoy is a bicycle concept for two persons, inspired from the dual paddle boat along with an operational wheelchair, and is designed to offer sheer fun for the bicycle riders. Each rider is designed to control one wheel separately of the bicycle. The seat angle of the concept is totally adjustable by using the handle according to the need of individual riders. It runs straight when two riders pedal at the same speed and when it requires to turn, the outer rider will ride faster than the inside rider. Riding this bicycle requires a good communication, cooperation and a minimum skill.

nThree Electric Vehicle Offers The Comfort of A Car with The Cost of An E-Bike

nThree electric vehicle aims to provide you with affordable, personal vehicle that features the comfort of a car yet with the cost of an e-bike. It sounds pretty ambitious and interesting, doesn’t it? Let’s read what these designers have to say about the project.

Following the recent electric revolution of lightweight vehicles around the world, the nThree is a new design, following the very successful nCycle e-bike concept. With the irreversible process of global economies turning towards renewable energy, the way we see and use the city has already changed and is set to do so dramatically in the next few years.

With our increased awareness and sensitivity towards energy consumption, courtesy among others of the most recent economic crisis, in the last 4-5 years, personal transportation has begun a slow but steady drift away from the model we have come to know in the past century. The 10s and hundreds of new e-bikes and electric cars like the Renault Twizy or Toyota i-Road have shown the way to a more personal and conscious approach. Our new concept builds on the characteristics and refines the strengths of these vehicles to bring electric power even closer to the mass market.

Small electric cars, tricycles and quadricycles all suffer from the same inherent drawback; they are meant to be cheap and affordable but they end up being expensive like real cars because they are BUILT like real cars. The mission on the nThree was to address these conceptual and design shortcomings and design an affordable, single-seat electric vehicle that would offer all (or most) of the comforts of an electric car at the cost of an e-bike.

To achieve the objectives, the nThree electric vehicle was built with a simplistic approach reminiscent on the nCycle. In first place, the vehicle was reduced to the most essential stable geometry of three wheels to reduce cost. Even though the latest small electrics are a great way to move around the urban areas, there is something about these offerings that does not look great at all: Price. Starting from about 7000 Euros and above these 1-2 seaters cost almost as much as a cheap standard car and more than many used ones in good condition.

Vladimer Kobakhidze, a 29-year old Georgian car designer has sent us his Audi bike concept, a premium transportation for urban traffic to reduce pollution. Please don’t get confused by the name, it’s not an official concept from Audi, but clearly it was inspired by the famous Audi brand design philosophy.

In this fast growing population, the reloaded urban traffic and the polluted environment needs a sustainable, flexible, safe and comfortable bicycle device. It is a difficult task to find out the real innovation in this, in the bicycle design segment. The goal is pretty straight forward, design a family bicycle for “Audi” based on the general design and philosophy of this German automotive company from rationality, visibility and quality. It has to meet the principle of modern sportiveness for premium consumers.

The “Audi Bike” Design project combines the new family of the bicycles: The “Audi” Sports bike, the Folding bike and the electronic + (HP) humane powered Bike. All of them feature fluent lines, more surface transitions and sporty look with emotional appearance.

Amazing Futuristic Design Concept : Flying Bike by DesignYourDreams

Flying Bike might still be a dream but we never stop toying around with this idea, just like this Czech company. The brief of this project is to create a flying bike that still has two basic requirements which are all features that common bicycle has such as being able to get to a place convenient for taking off, it should be able to take off for approximately 3-5 minutes in a coordinate way.

This flying bike looks like pretty heavy to us, those big machines not to mention the pilot, hopefully the propellers can perform well, what do you think? This concept design is similar to ultra-light mosquito helicopter.

You can see a physical prototype of this cycling hovercraft in September 2012 at the International Engineering Fair in Brno, Czech.

Greencycle-Eco Uses Pre-fabricated Bamboo as Its Main Material

Greencycle-Eco is a bicycle that explores the use of our current technology, instead of high and sophisticated technology in order to reduce the production cost. The result is affordable bicycle for farmers and other lower income demographic group in Third World Countries. At the same time, this strategic implementation can also be used for First World Countries to achieve greater sustainability.

Pre-fabricated Bamboo panel products have been chosen for the Greencycle-Eco design. With the increasing demand for using greener and more highly renewable materials followed by recent technology developed in India and China, research studies and material testing on Bamboo panel products have shown positive results in the quality and mechanical strength.

Greencycle Bamboo Bike by Paulus Maringka

Understanding the culture relevance in the analysis, design and evaluation process is the way to ensure that Greencycle bamboo bike is materially, economically and environmentally sustainable.

Initial two years research study focused on looking at how to improve the bicycle manufacturing process so that it was cleaner and didn’t rely on unsustainable processes, together with exploring the use of renewable materials. Through this study process and time spent in understanding the culture of users in Indonesia, the focus shifted.

To understand the creation of the Greencycle, a participatory design approach was applied in the design process that included a series of interviews of the target users, prototype testing and field experiments with sustainable resources, in order to propose, design and evaluate the Greencycle.

Volkswagen Mimio Can Represent The Future Commuting Alternative With Great Power And Usability

Can you ignore the possibility of using privately owned vehicles within metropolitan areas getting prohibited all over the world by 2032? An industrial designer, Jacky Wu envisioned that scenario when car would be parked outside and the only accessible vehicle into the city would be personal bicycles. That’s why he designed the innovative Volkswagen Mimio vehicle with most of the interior containing storage space for folding bicycles. The shape of this small 3 meter long two-seater is an outcome of his extensive research. To ensure better stability, the rear wheels of the car are clipped in slots and contain two engines to get maximum performance. This two engine construction ensures power distribution only when needed. The rear part of the vehicle contains a dynamo that generates power through the rear drag wheels to ensure prolonged battery life.
