Braille E-Book for Visually Challenged People

Braille E-book is a conceptual design of a digital and portable e-book reader, developed by Korean industrial designers. This is quite certain that by seeing the design, everyone will admire that this gadget is really necessary for reading e-books. However, e-books of Braille compatible version are not much available in the market because of the higher price. EAP is the mother technology that can develop special patterns on the plastic surface by raising those elements with an electronic signal. This unique technology used by Braille E-Book can translate the content into Braille.

Armstrong Bin Reduces The Consumption of Garbage Bags

Armstrong Bin is a compression dustbin designed by Sukwon Park and Sungwoo Park, which is an unusual effort to increase cleanness and convenience by reducing the use of garbage bags. Using more garbage bags will eventually increase the waste since garbage bags are likely to be turned into more garbage. The concept Armstrong bin would be the initial step of developing a waste free earth, just like the monumental step of Armstrong on the moon. This bin can reduce the garbage bag consumption by compressing the bags with simply putting pressure with a foot.

Lighting Iron by Gowoon Jeong

When you are using a conventional iron, is there any way to exactly know how hot your iron is? How do you know if your iron is hot enough to apply or enough cool to touch after using it? Lighting Iron is a conceptual iron design by Gowoon Jeong that can indicate how hot the iron exactly is. For example, when ironing some silk, the iron should be at a lower temperature and Lighting Iron can indicate this by showing pink light. On the other hand, cotton may require a higher temperature and in this situation, the iron will show dark red color which means it’s hot enough. Gowoon Jeong is a graduate student at SADI (Samsung Art & Design Institute) who is currently looking for full-time job and freelance projects. His specialties are industrial design, exhibition design, and interior design.

Rez-Q Kayak is Not Just Simple Watercraft

Considering the flood rescuing issue, Rez-Q has been developed to use it in post-flood conditions where the waters became calm, but the roads are still blocked. It can be deployed by boat or helicopter and numbered to track it throughout the rescue effort. Don’t take it as a simple watercraft; the different features of Rez-Q have made it a useful relief as well. This rescuer is opened by an immediate release lever in the boat’s back and the pneumatic cylinders open the kayak. An elastic urethane material stretches out from the main hull which gives the kayak an additional 3 feet of length. This light urethane is extremely UV stable, energy absorbing and abrasion resistant.

LifeLink Modular Shelter for Various Disaster Situations

Community values are the main inspiration of the LifeLINK Modular Shelter. Each of them is prepared of 1000 denier nylon walls with self skinning foam. During manufacturing, the shelters are vacuum packed. So when the parcel is ripped open, it inflates itself slowly. Then multiple units are zipped together through side flaps in order to form bigger units and a Velcro and a plastic sheet covers it. By doing this, it generates a central “sunroom” and people of the smaller units can access it. Ease of use merged with visual form and functionality has made these LifeLINK Modular Shelter an ideal selection in various disaster situations.
