The Can-AM SPYDER roadster combines the open-air benefits of a motorcycle with many of the convenience features of a traditional roadster to define a new paradigm for an on-road power sport vehicle. The unique Y-architecture with three wheels (two in the front, one in the rear) provides stability at rest and in motion, balancing performance needs with safety concerns. The Vehicle Stability System, which includes ABS, traction control and stability control, comes as standard on each vehicle. This makes the SPYDER roadster user-friendly and the road accessible to many people who want to enjoy the open-air experience.

Treepac eco friendly packaging concept has won a Silver International Design Excellence Award (IDEA) in EcoDesign category. With its structure made entirely of sustainable materials, a great effort towards greener earth, I think they do deserve the award. The new Mazda Kazamai is sure a cynosure to the eyes. The vehicle will be unveiled at the 2008 Moscow Motor show. It’s an SUV concept with the nature inspired styling cues. The literal meaning of Kazamai in Japanese is ’swirling crosswinds’ which seems to have continued in the design with door panels having subtle lines which look like the lines created in the sand. The front and rear lights seem an extension of this inspiration. The glass roof is an extension of the windscreen and looks very stylish. It also comes with a 22″ wheels with a direct injection engine. Overall it is one hell of a looker.

The new Copenhagen aquarium is expected to be a marvel in the contemporary water front architecture. It has been named as ‘The Blue Planet’ and is scheduled to be opened in 2013. It has been designed by Danish architects 3XN who had given their ‘Whirlpool’ concept wherein the whole concept was inspired by nature and sea. The location of the project is on the island of Amager near Copenhagen Airport and the airline passengers will have a complete aerial view of the structure. This design sure has traffic stopping looks.

Crutches have been around since the Pharaohs ruled Egypt some 5,000 years ago. However, as a basic device of medical treatments, crutch design seldom changes. Most crutch design focus on the manufacture and price only and ignores other prospects as well. “S_UPPORT” is an innovative short-term using crutch. The purpose of this project is to develop an efficient plastic crutch, which is easy to manufacture, individualize and recycle.
The material of “S_UPPORT” is nano-nylon, a kind of plastic which could be recycled so many times without losing the strength. By using this material, “S_UPPORT” would be much more competitive than traditional metal crutches in both manufacture cost and individualization. Read the rest of this entry »
