Salva Faucet Concept : Adjust The Temperature Without Wasting Water

Salva Faucet was born out of the idea to save water while adjusting water temperature. The designer explained to us that his inspiration came from the moment when we unconsciously left faucet running while adjusting the water temperature, at the same time, we’re wasting a lot of water. The knob looks like an exclamation mark when turned on, it also works as a reminder that you are leaving the water running. Using this faucet, you are forced to turn off the water in order to adjust the temperature because it would be really hard to turn the knob while still at “exclamation mark” mode.

Skycycle Parasol Provides You With Better Shade and Light No Matter Where The Sun Is In The Sky

Parasol canopy protects us from the heat of the sun and the rain, but Skycycle Parasol works together with its surrounding to give you better shade and light. Assaf Israel teamed up with Hanan Layosh to create this innovative canopy, they wanted to design a canopy that lives in harmony with its surroundings while respecting nature. A light sensor is incorporated on top to detect changes in sunlight intensity, then taking advantage of solar energy, the semi-transparent surfaces can rotate slowly to shade you from different directions. When the sunlight is a bit weak, the surface of Skycycle Parasol will open to let the light in and allow you to enjoy the warmth of the sun.

Underneath the upper surface, there are several LED lights which powered by solar energy can be used after sunset. Simply spin the shade to gradually increase or decrease its brightness.

Flexible X-Cav Street Sweeper for Big Cities

X-Cav Street Sweeper concept tries to eliminate the assumption that street sweeping process is dirty and should be condemned from visible public space. This device features stylish and minimalist design with effective and intelligent functionality.

Drink your espresso in style with V12 Espresso Machine. Limited in only 500 units, this device is by far the most gorgeous espresso machine we’ve ever seen, especially if you are into automotive art. Each machine is crafted from alloys such as magnesium, titanium, and aluminum as used in engines raced by Senna and Schumacher alike. The iconic half-scale 3-liter Grand Prix motors come alive in V10 and V12 configurations. We really love the cool feature where an oil filter works as coffee filters and the exhaust tubes actually dispense rich Italian-style coffee. Futuristic Airship LZ-73 Concept by Denislav Videnov

Airship LZ-73 concept was based on the first Zeppelin LZ-1. After extensive researches, this designer has come up with details of engineering design and construction mechanism.

I worked day and night thinking for the mechanism of the concept- airship, I was so enthusiastic about the idea, that even I connected and did some researches with professors (Physics, Chemistry, Mechanica) in University in Sofia. Sure, this idea isn’t perfectly constructed, but it has a big potentials.

Just think about it – How much plains and car crashes have for a year and no body stop to build them, but one disaster in May 1937 stop to construction of Airships. I think it happened because they don’t work with FUEL, it works with HELIUM- it is cheapest energy now a days.

Here how my concept Airship LZ-73 works:
The dirigible is the only flying apparatus which is able to execute vertical loading, and unloading without oscillation and concussions. Since its speed could be brought to minimal values without having to descend, it is able to continue hovering in the for maintenance of position and controlling it with digital electronic systems, the dirigible could be held stable over any location even under wind pressure. The modern dirigible Airship LZ-73 is stable, resistant atmospheric effects and relatively independent from the weather condition. Even if all engines stop, it is absolutely secured from falling due to separating the space for the lifting gas to multiple separate sections.

Guest Post : Chairs in the Bauhaus

This article is a guest post from Tom Faulkner, a furniture designer who believes simplicity of line and proportion are the cornerstones of all good design and he applies this principle to everything he makes.

The Bauhaus Design School may be the most prestigious and influential design studio in the last century with regard to modern furniture. Founder and architect Walter Gropius believed that furniture served a social and societal function, and that minimalist, inexpensive design was the way to ensure everyone had access to comfortable, sophisticated furniture. This design ethic remains very much in force today, and Bauhaus-inspired designs grace every kind of building from public offices to private residences.

These 20th century modernists made metalwork their own, and reclaimed it as a material from the worlds of engineering and architecture. They adored its strength and versatility, and its aesthetic simplicity. Tubular steelwork is one of the signature trademarks of many of the sleek, modern designs is of Bauhaus furniture.

Here are five classic Bauhaus designs that you might see just about anywhere!

1. Brno chair by Mies van der Rohe

Brno chair by Mies van der Rohe

Designed by the popular German-American architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, this classic, elegant chair is still being used by the stylish and fashion conscious all over the world. Mies van der Rohe was an alumnus of the Bauhaus and coupled his unique architectural vision with the Bauhaus vision of inexpensive, easy to assemble furniture. The Brno chair has a simple chrome plated frame made of flat steel plate, which is combined with a supportive and soft upholstered seat. It is one of the most successful chairs to come out of the Bauhaus school, it is still made today under license but is also extensively copied. Beware of cheap imitations! Some places you may see this (or very similar) designs include reception areas, waiting rooms, smart offices, and high end private residences -making this design one of the most ubiquitous in the furniture industry.
