Grow : Redesigned Hot-Water Bag for More Comfort and Convenience

Grow Hot-Water Bag is a concept design inspired from personal experience. Tahsin Emre Eke, the designer, was suffering from backache and a doctor gave him a suggestion to use hot-water bag to relief the pain. Using standard product, Tahsin realized that we needed to hold the hot-water bag when on bed to keep it stay at the same location. This is so inconvenient, not to mention that we might face the risk of our hand getting burnt as well.

Grow is a redesigned hot-water bag that can be adapted to any part of the body equally. This bag can stand firm thanks to the belt, it functions as a strap to make the bag stays on your body, it also functions as the handle when you fill it with hot water.

Roseto 11S Concept Car Design Was Inspired by Freedom Lifestyle

Roseto 11S concept car has been designed for luxury car brand, it’s a vehicle that features badass, artistic, and timeless design. The car design aims to represent American landscape, just like a Ferrari that represents the Tuscan landscape.

At first, Shashank Shreekanth, the designer, wondered how people would react to his design, an American car but with an Italian name. Would it be socially acceptable? Or perhaps it would be better to create global design. There were many questions in his mind when he was trying to solve Roseto’s design mysteries, making him one step further from American style to international design. The result is simple and elegant lines, no complicated surfaces, a compact car design.

Veemenza Concept Car Is A Design Study Inspired by Alfa Romeo Tradition of Performance-Oriented Lines and Proportions

This Veemenza concept car is the result of a year of design development, driven by a profound philosophical, historical and artistic research about the concept of beauty and dynamism expressed in artistic disciplines over time. The formal language of the car is defined by iconic purity, the Alfa Romeo’s characteristics in the 50’s and the muscular dynamism of human body.

The development process has led the designer in a deep analysis of classical sculpture which, despite the simplicity of the surfaces, evokes emotions with its natural tension and dynamism. Investigating the fulcrum of classical sculpture, the human being, the aim of the project was to transfer the elegance, strength and dynamism of the same in the design of the final product. The organic body sculpture can be seen as a natural skin stretching over the mechanical component bringing the drama of a classic Italian supercar into a modern design.

Lamphouse Installation – An Architectural Art Project Inspired by Light Beam from Road Lamps

Located in the University of Hawai’i Manoa’s School of Architecture, the Lamphouse Installation captures the space casted by lamps to project a surreal spatial experience from our daily lives. Inspired by the light beam from road lamps, the installation uses wooden sticks to enclose the space underneath a stairway lamp, roof light, wall lamp, spot light, working lamp, flashlight and reading lamp to project surprising spatial structures and warm living energy after dark.

The wooden sticks shoot out like light beams to shape the space underneath through manipulation, emphasizing the transition from daytime to nighttime. The light from the lamps at night and the sunlight at day provides additional light shadow effects during the changes. The newly formed spaces invite audiences to move the wooden sticks as movable passages for them to enter into, reconfigure, and interact with. The artists’ aim is to provoke thought regarding the possibilities of space, interaction and new ideas. The Lamphouse Installation idea will continue to exhibit in other cities as public art and temporary camping house spaces.

The designers consist of assistant professor Hongtao Zhou and his students in ARCH 490: Installation and Sculpture class. The class has formed an architecture residency to promote the art of architectural installations in Honolulu. The participants are: Verna Mae Itson, Angus Lin, Ruben Castro, Janica Domingo, Dustin Chang, Clarenore Selbe, Melissa Gil Raisa Carlos, Timothy Dondero, Jonah Jumila, Benjamin Brown, Justin Takamori, Marcos Cruz Ortiz, Alice Sandstrom, Skye Tagami, and Hongtao Zhou.

Tek Lumber Wood Stove Was Inspired by Wood Logs and Nature

Tek Lumber, an iconic product, results from a collaboration between INNGAGE, a design company, and Solzaima, a wood stoves brand and manufacturer. It represents a new concept of wood stoves capable of telling meaningful stories. Inspired by wood logs this stove brings a more natural atmosphere to the living room. The goal was to transfer nature into the habitat of the consumer, as a reminder of the wood that burns inside the stove. Steel pipes contrast with wood giving form to this everyday product that is eye catching and conveys new charisma to wood burning stoves. Orion Streamliner Was Inspired by Predatory Bird’s Body

Orion Streamliner is a cool concept by Mehmet Doruk Erdem. We don’t think it is meant for daily use, the extreme lowered body wouldn’t do well on rough surfaces. Orion’s shell is made of carbon fiber to reduce its weight, equipped with turbo charged engine to gain extra power. This motorbike focuses on high speed and comfort for long distance riding, the automatic suspension offers a possibility to set different riding positions for the rider. Just like predatory bird’s body, Orion body becomes smaller at the rear part to get more aerodynamic resistance. The main thing for Orion’s design combines old school design with its nice brown saddle and todays technology in one motorcycle.
