Egloo Candle Powered Heater Is A Cheap Way to Create Warm Environment

Stop wasting money on your heater, use Egloo to reduce waste of electricity while still creating warm environment. Egloo is a candle-powered heater, it’s a cheaper alternative and more ecological energy thanks to its terracotta concept that saves heat and slowly, gradually releases it by radiation. This unique heater is composed of 4 elements: the base, grill, and 2 domes. The base offers a nice space for candles, and once you light them up, they will warm the domes up. The metal grill is placed on the base to support the domes, it creates some space to let air in which is important for combustion of the candles. To get the most out of Egloo, you would need 4 candles, with an average duration of 5 hours, you can warm up a 20m sq. area.

Smartcall : A Smart Watch for Hearing Impaired People

Smartcall is a smart watch designed especially for hearing impaired people. This watch has the ability to alert or make calls to both hearing and speaking impaired people. They can’t hear your calls or notice signals if you are behind of them. The device works with a paired Bluetooth and GPS enabled mobile phone or two paired smart call watches. The device is useful between two impaired users or one impaired and other non-impaired user. Press and hold the call button to make an alert or to respond to one, the receiver would get a vibration feedback when receiving an alert. The Bluetooth technology transfers the call to vibration and GPS locates the direction of an alert, also the user can give an alert to a group of people in the Bluetooth range.

If both users are hearing and speaking impaired then they can use smart call watch to transfer alert or call if the device is already paired. At the same time, if the first user is impaired and other is non-impaired, this Bluetooth and GPS enabled mobile phone can be used to make a call or send noise alert if you installed a smart-call application in your phone. The impaired people should always wear the smart-call watch like blinds carrying their walking stick.

Solar Powered Fresnel Hydrofoil Trimaran Features Folding Wingsail

Margot Krasojević has submitted her latest design, it’s a solar powered, hydrofoil Fresnel Hydrofoil Trimaran. This trimaran features a folding wingsail to allow better lift-to-drag ratio. The frame of the sail features mechanical structure similar to an airplane wing, constructed from carbon fiber with a retractable Kevlar sail covered in aero-nautical film. The sail has the ability to rotate around the mast and those series of motorized creases help to catch the wind. The wingsail is actuated by motors that control all those movements using solar cells and wind energy.

The multi-hull wingsail design looks like overwhelming, but it actually doesn’t carry a heavy ballast that might slow down the vessel because all materials used are strong yet ultra light. There’s a triangulated woven polyester mesh trampoline with a vinyl coating runs the length of the Trimaran, it is connected to the wingsail that wraps itself into the main composite carbon fibre hull. The frame of this trampoline also functions as a water piercer with a heavy ensuring a smoother ride. The wind flows over wingsail and uplift drives the Trimaran forward.

A.F.A. is A Powered Exoskeleton Suit for Firefighter

After reading a report about a fire in high rise building that killed almost 50 people in Shanghai, Jiazhen Chen decided to create this special project. A.F.A. is a powered exoskeleton suit for firefighters, a 28-story building shouldn’t be a challenge for our modern fire fighting, but unfortunately, there are still many factors that firefighters can’t save those people trapped in the building. Once the area is above the aerial ladder could reach or any elevating platforms, the chance of rescuing those victims drastically reduce to almost zero.

The main objective of this project is to design and develop a helpful tool with new technology with carrying ability and personal mobility to provide an effective fire fighting equipment for the future of 2025.

Hydro Bike : Sporty Hydrogen Powered Bike Design

HYDRO BIKE offers a cheaper way to travel. The design of this bike was meant to save your hard earned money without looking like a cheapskate. Powered by hydrogen cell but added with “unworkable” pair of pedals.

Why the need to have pedals?
As long as it has pedals (self-propelled), it would still legally be considered a bicycle in many countries. There’s no need of a motorcycle license, yearly road tax, summons and anything that cost money for owning a bike.

Bimodal Concept Car Was Inspired by ProGrip System

Inspired by a system called ProGrip, Joe Sardo and Federico Bruni have come up with Bimodal concept car. P.G.S. (ProGrip System), mounted at the front frame (also applicable to the rear) is composed of a small central wheel with steering fork through electric motor. In order to increase the grip, it is equipped with an innovative thermo fender. The operating logic is controlled by a control unit and a sensor that does steer the small wheel in synchronization with the turning radius of the front wheels.

P.G.S. inspired by the undercarriage of a plane, opens with electro-hydraulic jacks (when the car is moving in a straight line) through a button in the cockpit, and / or through rain sensors and infrared thermometer sensing temperature asphalt road. This system allows an ‘excellent cornering stability, thanks to adherence vehicle mechanics flowing “like on rails” no under-steer and no over-steer.

Orbit Concept Watch Proposal With Textured Display

Orbit Watch designed by Gabriel from Romania looks pretty awesome with its textured orbit display. Exostrusion LED Watch Was Inspired by Rear Diffusers of Modern Sports Cars

Exostrusion LED watch concept was inspired by the rear diffusers of modern sports cars. It’s pretty simple actually, these diffusers are usually looking like extruded forms with various fins and facets, so, taking these forms in mind, Peter Fletcher has come up with unique and futuristic display frame for his latest watch design.

The time is displayed by those LEDs arranged in 4 quadrants, the top 2 quadrants display the hours while the others display the minutes. These quadrants are divided with appropriate number of segments by a unique extruded form, forget flat smooth surface. Since the time can be displayed in both 12hr or 24hr formats, the center area becomes the AM/PM indicator. The display layout also allows for a phased digital time telling mode where it is all controlled by subtle soft touch controls mounted in the strap, you can see those 2 highlight indents.
