EyeStops is a concept device for bus stops which will allow the passengers to do a lot more activities than just sitting idle and wait. The SENSEable City Lab of MIT has designed this solar-powered booth that are outfitted with touchscreen displays that will show necessary information like bus schedules or the shortest route for a certain destination. Even more, you will be able to browse the web, check the air quality, see the exact location of your desired bus, interact with a mobile device and use the booth as a community message board to post announcements and ads. On top of that, this booth will surely change the appearance of a traditional bus stop.

The new single seater electric concept car by South Korean designer Jongpil Shin is expected to take the car designing to the next level. The USP of this compact car design is that it has certain emotional elements which constitute a part of it like the wrinkle that has been incorporated into the overall styling and functionality. Even though it’s a single seater vehicle, it still can accommodate two people easily thus transforming it into a two seater but in the process the wrinkle gets straightened. The wrinkle also helps in protecting the passengers in case of an accident as the same gets swelled up. So, all in all it is an emotionally safe vehicle.

Earlier this year, Toyota and Royal College of Art Students (RCA) have launched a creative partnership to promote innovative design for urban living, using Toyota’s new iQ city car as the inspiration. Students were asked to create an item that reflect the concept of ‘intelligent urban living’.
Yusuf Muhammad, was the winner of Living Room category and joint overall winner. His Yu Type design sits on the computer keyboard and allows ‘hunt and peck’ two fingered typists the opportunity to increase their speed and confidence. He is now thinking about developing the idea and hopes to include features like spell checking and predictive text to increase its appeal. Judges praised the way he addressed a social issue of an aging population within the urban context.
