Open mirror is a unique mirror that you can use to hear music by connecting it to your music player or smartphone. Thanks to its advanced sensor based interface, you can control the music without touching the screen. When in stand-by position, the mirror features a full oval shape. The shape is divided in the lower part by a line of light that suggests the direction of the decomposition of the figure. The sliding movement reveals the functions of the product. The docking station comes out and a different light starts to illuminate the area where the sensors are active.

As the name suggests, this clock is also a built-in music player, the MMC slot and speakers allow you to setup your favorite music and volume to be played to wake you up. You can control this options through touchscreen interface. The button that you use to turn off the alarm is equipped with an electrical pulse, giving you a mild “shock” for more effective alert.

Brilliant and crystal clear, that’s the sound promised to you coming from Poul Henningsen Grand Piano. A unique piano designed in 1931 yet still belongs to the future. As you can see here, it’s not your conventional grand piano, it features light and open design that was based on the conversation with famous Danish Jazz pianist, Leo Mathiesen. Mathiesen told Henningsen about how hard to see his bass player while on stage due to the opaque wooden piano lid. So, Henningsen designed a piano with curved legs to provide more room for percussion instruments in an ensemble set-up, the music desk was uniquely molded to match the lid as single transparent shell.

Your natural body heat can be transformed into energy to power electronic device such as concept Button MP3 player. This button-shaped music player utilizes your body heat to recharge itself. You can attach this device to your clothing just like a button to obtain your body heat, those four function buttons have been designed to mimic the stitching holes in a garment button, it looks pretty cool. At night when you are sleeping, you can place Button MP3 player on the pillow next to you so that it can continue absorb your body heat to recharge the battery.

The problem all musicians have is the transportation of their musical equipment, and it is because of this that you will often see a guitarist (for example) struggling down the street with his/her guitar and case, an amplifier, and a backpack full of other stuff they need (like cables, foot pedals, a microphone and stand, and a drink).

Based on extensive research done by Nathan McDonald, a product designer, he found that buskers (street performers) have two options in the way they perform: they can either play acoustically and strain their voices to be heard, or they can play electrically but have to bring their own power source. The most common power source for this is a car battery, which is just something else to carry, and car batteries are not light! This is where the Gen-X Buskers Amp comes in.

The Gen-X Buskers Amp is an innovation in mobile musical equipment. The Gen-X incorporates a back-pack style design, this is to aid in the transportation of musical equipment, since it is easy to carry and other smaller pieces of equipment can be stored inside the Gen-X’s storage compartment. For increased sound quality the Gen-X has a hard polypropylene shell, but because of this the back panel has to be shaped to fit the spine for comfort. The Gen-X uses 3 oval speakers that have been arranged to create the ‘new face of outdoor performing’.

Although named a ‘buskers amp’ this could in fact be used by any musician on the move. Gen-X Buskers Amp can be used outside, powered by a rechargeable Li-ion battery, or indoors powered by an AC adaptor.

Wave electric violin is a concept violin proposed to Yamaha, the number one manufacturer in this industry. This concept design was inspired by the designer’s experience as violin player. As a 10-years violin player, she has noticed that playing a violin requires a lots of practice and correct posture in order to play beautifully, people need the right technology to improve their performance faster and easier. As a 10yrs violin player, I noticed the very slow learning curve of violin. To play it beautifully, it requires tremendous time and effort to have correct posture and habit. People practice violin average 2-3 hours everyday for 10 years. 10 years makes a kid become a lady. However, still middle or advanced amateur level.

So this is for all learners from beginner to advanced amateur level. People who want to improve their performance level easier and faster with the right technology. (Violin has not been evolved technologically for 5 centuries.)

Also, according to my interview and my experience, they need to feel comfortable between a chin and shoulder rest to focus better on their practice, want to accomplish music pieces easier and faster to keep motivated and need to be aware of their posture to get used to the right posture easier without correcting wrong habit.

So, I am proposing a new violin to Yamaha, the number one maker in this market, Wave Electric Violin. First is auto tuning touch wheel. You don’t need to try to adjust the tight and wooden tuning pegs. Just drag in circular motion to tune. Your ears will get used the right sound of it whenever you practice. Second is Braille display to indicate the correct fingering. Just follow the bumps on the finger display. Your finger will remember the right fingering. Also, the diagonal pattern on the shoulder rest stretches just enough to make you feel comfortable. Even, the chin rest is adjustable. Also, when you practice, your arm will fall down in 20 minutes. Accelerometer will detect and stop playing if your arm falls down.

The concept is very simple. Koishi planter pot monitors the activity within a plant and transforms it into an audio-visual improvisational performance. We can’t talk to plants but interacting is different. It’s nice to put a plant in the limelight for a change. The music played through the pot is produced instantaneously. It’s more than just a pot, it’s an instrument; controlled by your plant – imagine cooking to the sound of your basil plant in your kitchen.

We interact with one another on a daily basis, we interact with animals, and we spend hours playing Angry Birds on our smart phones; interacting with electronics. Can you see where this is going? In 2012 it’s considered normal to spend hours playing, but interacting with a plant is probably considered as being weird. Koishi Planter Pot tackles this issue, and promotes having plants indoors.

Having plants in your house can improve indoor air quality, they stabilize humidity level and also act as beautiful home decor.
