Now just imagine if you could not clearly see the digits and alphabets on your mobile, hard to even imagine right? Many visually impaired people have the ability to recognize things like light intensity colors. Takumi Yoshida gives the basic phone status to such people through color illumination and identifiable keypad, called SÉNS. With the help of glow of color they will be able to see the tiny texts on screen to at least some extent. The enlightenment is positioned on the sides as the sides are the ones that are exposed when the phone is on a flat surface.

Avery Holleman has developed a PC design that can turn out to be a very useful tool on your conference tables. Named as Napkin PC, the design resembles a Napkin holder, which combines multiple touch screen devices within a collaborative network. The digital pens which are a part of the device allow the users to draw on the touch screens what you would do with a pen on a napkin. As per the designer, the reason for creating the concept was to enable users to interact with any number of interfaces connected in the same network. Of course this is one napkin wherein one won’t feel embarrassed keeping notes. We already discussed some of Next Gen PC Design finalists, such as : Siafu PC Design, Zen PC, Yuno, Momenta Neck PC, The Cup, CLEF and TRVL, and the winner goes to Napkin PC Concept, congratulation Avery!

The thermostat is a wireless clock-thermostat it has a touch screen display. The Thermostat contains a detailed 7 day-program with 6 changeable temperature periods a day, and a Holiday-function. The thermostat is easy to use and adjustable for every kind of lifestyle, the design is simple so the function remains clear for everybody. The stylish design fits a modern household interior. Britta has submitted this design to honeywell design award, let’s hope for the best.

The EyeMove PC is probably a great news for computer geeks. EyeMove PC is a new approach to home entertainment and computer user interfaces. This PC concept has small oval-shaped with built in projection lens controlled by a multi-function wireless controller. Place it vertical on a wall, horizontal on a stand, on your desk and project your programs, movies, games anywhere you like. With the wireless controller you can forget the old mouse, your keyboard, joystick , you have it all in one with a touch screen wireless controller.

The new name in next generation concept phone is Onyx. Onyx is the result of partnership of Synaptics and industrial design studio Pilotfish. It is enabled through the clear capacitive sensing technology of Synaptics, thus illustrating what the future of mobile communications would be. It would be that of combining an intelligent and adaptive user interface, this with sleek industrial design and the next-generation user interaction design.
