Autouber Autonomous Car Project Learns About Its Passengers to Create Perfect Environment for Them

AutoUber is our concept for the future of self-driving cars. It’s a new type of taxi experience – one that’s more personalized, proactive, sustainable, and safe.

The AutoUber taps into the greatest resource of our modern age: information. By pairing with a user’s login and learning their preferences, the autonomous car of the future is in many ways more personalized for its passengers than a hard-coded car off the lot.

Artificial Snow Cave Rope Shelter by Margot Krasojevic

Artificial Snow Cave Rope Shelter is a design submission from Margot Krasojevic. It looks like a futuristic shelter that would protects you against freezing weather, perfect for mountain climbers looking to find a place to rest. You can read Margot’s complete explanations below.

The hut offers a snowdrift frame made from weighted carbon fibre mesh, this contoured landscape mimics the surrounding vertiginous precipices and landscapes, the carbon fiber snowscape creates an artificial snow cave which can be dug into and around enabling climbers to inhabit the structure in a similar way to a snow cave. The composite carbon frame catches the snowdrift using snow as an insulating material, as it is a mesh structure pockets of rooms can be carved into the build up of snow as well as air vents to help with air circulation, it is possible to further insulate the structure by digging a small pit deeper into one part of the cave floor to provide a place for the coldest air to gather, away from the occupants, the entrance may be partially blocked with chunks of snow to deflect wind and retain heat.

KAZbrella Inside Out Umbrella Won’t Drip On The Floor

Wow, look, someone actually makes inside out umbrella design into production. The first time we saw an inside out umbrella was from Ilmo Ahn’s submission, perhaps KAZbrella was inspired by that project as well. We think the name is self explanatory, it’s a reverse folding umbrella that allows you to enjoy drip free umbrella.

KAZbrella opens inside out, just like a flower, it leaves the wet side of the canopy contained inside when closed, it won’t wet the floor. The design allows you to smoothly open and close in a crowd, avoiding accidental poking of other people. The double spoked design makes it extremely strong even against strong wind. In the even of your umbrella is blown inside out, simply click the button on the handle to restore back to its open shape.

Fonkraft Modular Smartphone by Fonkraft Technologies

While we are waiting for Project Ara come to fruition, Fonkraft Technologies, an Australian start-up, steals the moment with Fonkraft Modular Smartphone. This smartphone allows you to replace the main components such as CPU, RAM, camera, and other modules to meet your needs. Switching the components would be really easy, in fact, you can also do it on-the-go. You can switch the camera to the hi-resolution one from the basic when you want to shoot an important object, upgrade the RAM when the current is not enough, and many more.

Switching an old smartphone to a new one doesn’t have to mean buying a whole new phone, simply purchase a new module. As your smartphone begins to freeze or can’t keep up with new games or app requirements, just replace the old CPU with a new one. Another benefit having modular components would be the ability to fix your phone would be much simpler, when one component stops working, you can just take off that component to use a temporary one and sent the broken module to a service center. Echoes of a Nearby Future Part Deux : Futuristic Formula 1 Concept Car

we have featured Echoes of a Nearby Future before, this time, Andries van Overbeeke wants to introduce you to the second part, he even made a cool storyline for this project. You can read his explanations below.

As an artist and designer it is my task to visualize what is yet to be seen. To explore ideas that linger in the community and listen to the friction people experience with the status quo, and the desires they feel for the direction of development. In ‘Echoes of a Nearby Future’ I distill something tangible out of the discussions about the future of Formula 1.

This time we take on the car of Red Bull, a brand that lends itself perfectly for an extreme, badass concept. A matte black jet fighter inspired beast, branded with large patches of contrasting sponsoring. I think my Williams concept was more realistic, however one of the functions of art is the exploration of boundaries of what is possible. If specific traits or details on this Red Bull concept go too far and are unrealistic, we have established something very important: we now know what is impossible. Be careful though. Classifying something as ‘impossible’ should require quite some thought and imagination. History shows that there have even been occasions where people were proven wrong…

Mercedes One Class Revenge by Alfonso Nuñez Perea

In a training specializing in Advanced Industrial Design in Córdoba, Argentina; a “Revenge” 2030 year, Mercedes Benz motorcycle concept was proposed. It is remarkable the degree of innovation using aesthetics and sculptural Brand design lines. “Powerful, dynamic and sculptural” are the design cornerstones that the industrial designer Alfonso Nuñez Perea chose to develop the concept.

The development is to generate a new segment, Mercedes Benz Class 1, and incorporate sports and vehicle safety and comfort characters, such as the ability to handle the bike with integrated hands “into a space” as a novelty. This system would incorporate an elastic material to adapt to the user, which in turn would provide heating. When folded, the hands are protected, and most curious is that the vehicle is completely divided to compensate tilt swivel and give freedom in handling.
