Slider Ultra Mobile Computer Concept

Slider is an innovative ultra mobile computer concept that can handle all the requirements of a user all through the day. The concept features a full functional 9” touchscreen display and a full QWERTY keyboard which can be revealed through flipping the screen. VOIP video chatting and flawless mobile video streaming can be achieved through its 1GB RAM and 1.5GHz processor, while the keyboard allows the user to send emails and post blog entries easily. The main difficulty that this ultra mobile personal computer faces is finding a reliable hinge that conveys data from the screen and other necessary components located in the upper half of the device to the hard drive and the motherboard. Because of its ultra compact shape, the battery life is significantly hindered, however, it still can ensure 4 to 7 hours of operation.

Vestalife Firefly and JewelBox iPod Speaker by RKS Design

Vestalife, the award-winning lifestyle electronics company, and world-recognized strategy and industrial design consultancy RKS today announce a new strategic partnership as Vestalife prepares to launch new products at Macworld and CES. “As we were designing Vestalife’s new iPod speaker docks,” said Ravi Sawhney, RKS Founder and CEO, “we realized that RKS and Vestalife are kindred spirits. We both appreciate the power of design to create an emotional connection with consumers. We look forward to the using Psycho-Aesthetics, our philosophy of creating an emotional connection between consumers and brands, to help propel Vestalife to even greater heights.”

When you look beyond Vestalife’s products, competitive iPod speaker docks are driven by function and lacking in character and emotional appeal. The Firefly’s organic, flowing lines and evolved geometric shapes give it a unique attitude and personality. When closed, the Firefly design uses negative space to dissect its overall shape into three distinct sections. The bold breaks and gaps give the design a layered look and hint at the promise of kinetic transformation as the system is opened.

Would You Trade iPhone for Plica ?

Plica is a conceptual phone that uses 2 screens instead of one, and has the advantage of shape as it is dimensionally the same as regular phone. Plica phone concept is trying to offer a better design compared to iPhone which has many complains on its size of the interface, which is too small for some people’s hand. Splitting it into two allows you to dedicate one of the touch screens as a keyboard and the other as a touch monitor. You can also view a single web page or image across both screens. This could be the next evolution in mobile electronics.
