Twist Camera Self Powered Camera with Winding Mechanism for Power

The new technologies of digital cameras have become more and more complex, which leads to creating more sophisticated parts and more complex disposable waste. Based on that issue, Bryn Seymour and Jon Rothapfel tried to help creating self powered eco friendly camera. Inspired by other contemporary self powered devices such as radios and lamps, the Twist Camera is a small portable digital camera that uses a winding mechanism for power and would be capable of taking several photographs per cycle of the mechanism.

The Twist Cameras features are minimal with the view finder being a simple hole in the body for the user to look through, a knob to wind for energy, one button for shooting a photograph and a multi colored L.E.D. (Light Emitting Diode) for the user interface.

Hi-CT Hybrid Car Concept from Toyota

First impression at Toyota Hi-CT car might not make you say “wow”, well we agree that the design is somehow not as stylish as we expect it. On the other hand, Toyota’s team of you Japanese and European designers claimed that Hi-CT is a reflection of what a cool and great vehicle should look like, they want to create something that make people stop and take a good look.

The Hi-CT is a plug-in hybrid with a 1.5L motor and uses lithium-ion batteries, which are located underneath the floor of the vehicle in order to maximize the interior space of the car. While it looks quite boxy and big, it is in fact quite small. The entire vehicle is 3.3 meters long, 1.6 meters wide and 1.7 meters high. It is, effectively, a cube on wheels. Due to the tiny size, it can only carry two persons. However, being a “lifestyle” car, there’s enough space inside it for everything that an active user or two could need. The rear trunk can be modified so that surfboards, bicycles and camping equipment can be carried around for those days where you need to get out to nature.

Looking at inside of the car, we might hear you say “wow” because of its futuristic design, the exterior now doesn’t seem to matter anymore.

Solar Powered Street Green Technology Concept with Movement Sensors

This is an energy saving product for public spaces. With its 7.3 square meters of the main panel with solar cells and with MoSESS (Movement sensors energy saving system), it is able to provide illumination throughout all night. All objects that are part of this concept are connected to each other by an underground connection and also to electric grid which enables sharing of leftover energy in cases when this is needed.

Public telephones and other public services (such as Automatic telling machines, Internet services, informational services) that are put in streets for more convince to customers consume electric energy. Not only for illumination but for different digital devices such as computers, LCDs, information panels, wireless devices… More and more of these services will be available on streets and more energy will be needed to support them. Solar public multipurpose booths provide, whatever the apparatus is inside, with necessary energy. Also every booth has lights that are powered by the same solar panels.

Bus stops with their large protective panels provide ideal space for application of solar cells. Generally, bus stops do not use much energy and in this way they can help other users from the SOLAR STREET FAMILY that use more electricity. Even more, the electricity collected by the Solar bus stops can be used by any other user as they are all connected to each other as well as to electric company. Lights of the bus stop itself are positioned in the base of solar panel and in the bus stop seating directed toward ground.

Solar park lamp uses the same MoSESS (Movement Sensors Energy Saving System) as Solar street lamp to reduce energy consumption. In the same way it recharges its batteries during the day and in the night uses it for illumination.

Atlas Kinetic Green Technology Cell Phone Concept

The designer of Atlas Kinetic concept cell phone understand the importance of keeping our earth green, that is why Atlas Kinetic cell phone is made from aluminum and glass, built to last, trying to intervene in the common life cycle of this kind of products as a new greener solution. The central sapphire glass reveals the generating & charging unit. The power system of this phone is similar to kinetic / automatic watches and uses a oscillating weight that powers a mainspring. The central power unit transforms movement into electricity and supplies power to all phone electronic components. When the rotor stops, kinetic movement, for leaving the phone static for a long period of time, turning the lateral crown a couple of times will give power to the mainspring which will turn on the phone once again. Take your cellular phone anywhere and stop worrying about recharging or sort out of batteries.
