Haptic Reader is a concept device that features an innovative way of helping blind people on reading non-Braille books. This device incorporates a flat glass surface that converts the letters of a page into Braille characters and projects them on the flat surface of this device when the user places it on a book. Moreover, this device also helps those people who don’t know reading Braille characters through the embedded speaker. The device can scan the text and convert it into voice which is played via the speaker. The handy device is designed in a simple way and is very much convenient to use.

Dragonfly, A Metabolic Farm for New York City in The Future

Dragonfly vertical farm is a concept urban farm specially designed for the Roosevelt Island of New York City which will reduce the problems associated with food shortage, mileage and connection between the producers and consumers. Because of the densely packed city civilization, this farm has been designed vertically, spanning 132 floors and 28 different agricultural fields for accommodating dragonflies aiming to produce fruit, grains, vegetables, meat and dairy. This Dragonfly wing shaped superstructure features wind and solar power producing capability and includes housing, offices, research labs and communal areas separated from farms, orchards and production rooms. Throughout the glass and steel set of wings, animal and plant farming is arranged as well as soil nutrient levels are maintained properly.

Queens Museum of Art Conceptual Design by Elliot White

The new conceptual design by Elliot White, a New York based architecture student as improvisations over the Queens Museum of Art has some interesting facets to it. The said building will be constructed using the lattice structure and after covering the layer with concrete, a plastic bag will be placed as a support for hardening the concrete during construction. The design will be raised off the ground, which creates an area for public space underneath the design wherein there is flexibility so that one can organize events even when the museum is close.
