As part of this industrial designer design study of the future automobiles, Futuristic MITHOS Electromagnetic Vehicle was born. It was originally designed in 2006 as modeling and styling exercise and finally improved in 2011 for animated teaser. Tiago Miguel Inácio, the designer told us that the exterior design of MITHOS took around 6 months to finish. Bring Pumpkin portable water filtration system when you go to camp or have any outdoor activities, it would become very handy when there’s no clean water around you. This tool uses a UV filtration system, charcoal filter, hydraulic pump combined with a digital engine. The internal battery can be charged using electricity or manually using its dynamo hand crank. We love the use of clear tubes to make it possible for the user to get easy access to deep and narrow places. Pumpkin transforms dirty water into drinkable one through coal and micro fiber filtration at the tip of the tube. It was inspired by Dyson products, instead of sucking dust and dirt, this tool sucks water and purifies it.

Interceptor suit is an interesting project to see how these designers view the evolving technology in the future by designing a wearable technology that carries information around the planet and beyond. The suit is also able to steal information bit by bit and distributing it to the masses. You can read the designers explanation below:

In the future, society and technology have evolved to a point where a widening gulf exists between the privileged few with access to digital information and the vast majority who have no access to the information pipelines that drive the economies of the world.

In this environment, the mysterious “Interceptor” penetrates the very fibers that carry information around the planet and beyond, stealing information bit-by-bit and distributing it to the masses.

The Interceptor suit was created from black vinyl and card, with an integrated circuit to light each “bit” fashioned from acrylic, copper and optic fibers and attached by hooks to the outer surface. This project explored fantasy characters and augmentation of the human form as well as wearable technology, fashion design, performance and art direction.

The brief for this workshop was to develop a wearable piece under the theme of “Human Augmentation in a Future Context”. Several round of ideation produced the “Interceptor” character after which prototyping enable the design to emerge. The Interceptor suit final product included the costume, several “bit” accessories and a stylized video prototype showing the costume in action.

Interceptor was completed during the Interaction Design Programme at CIID.

Daimler’s iconic Smart Fortwo together with BASF is soon releasing its new version the Daimler Smart Forvision. This model’s raison d’être is deliberately reduces the weight and helps in adding clever energy-saving technologies for nearly 20 percent to an EV’s range. The other advantages are the efficient LEDs, translucent organic solar cells and the infrared-reflective films and covering. The product has all-plastic wheels. An e-textile is used to cover the seat and the arm rests.

The iWallet has extraordinary features one wouldn’t have expected in a wallet. The outer case is made of carbon fiber which makes it a hard case and tamper resistant material. The wallet is built-in with a biometric reader and the wallet can be opened only if it recognizes your fingerprint. What else can make your wallet safe? This wallet is linked to your mobile phone using the Bluetooth. It gives a loud alarm in case you miss either of the devices and if you are only 10-15 ft away from each other. It has theft deterrent technology and ensures user privacy. The technology is a licensed design which can be incorporated into OEM products.

Global Spirit Racing is a futuristic racing vehicle design for Terra Prix 2085 design competition. The automotive designer created amazing detailed background story and won the first place in community selection category with this awesome future racing car.

This year the big Terra Prix 2085 race, sponsored by Local-Motors brings together a large amount of teams coming out from the most important world mega polis.

The number of registered participants is the largest ever seen in this style of competition, even greater than in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge and the Worldwide Dakar Championship who organize competitions on all continents throughout the year.

The competence and show are guaranteed for both teams and spectators, the invitation has attracted the best IRC and WDC teams. The struggle for victory will be fierce beating by far the toughest rallies seen by man in this century and the previous one, an unprecedented race where only the ones that can achieve a good balance will be able to finish it.

In cooperation with Supper Club restaurant chain, Stratocruiser by NAU has been contracted as a study for our future travel technology. Just like other normal cruises, all guests will get overnight dinner cruises, massage, spa treatments, yoga classes, and even beauty care. Guests can relax, enjoy their healthy dinner overlooking the beautiful tropical jungles, amazing glaciers, or the historical Mayan ruins in Mexico.

From the outside, you wouldn’t guess how visually amazing inside nhow hotel in Berlin. Designed by Karim Rashid, this hotel reflects German’s modern culture connecting with the rest of the world through its artistic and sensual design. The vision of Karim Rashid is to engage technology, visuals, textures, colors, as well as the needs to live in a simple and less cluttered, yet sensual environment.

Inside the guestrooms, you’ll find soothing and relaxing environment. Each section of these towers has different décor themes. Rooms in east tower feature beautiful sunrise and sunset color scheme, such as warm gold and pink. Rooms in west tower feature blue, pink, and grey color schemes. If guests choose to have the room with the best view of the spree river, they can choose to stay in the upper tower room.

To make the title realistic, I would like to start with speed that most electric cars usually are deficient in. Smart electric car concept can go 0 to 60 km/h in just 5.5 seconds which gets up to 120 km/h through its powerful 30kW magneto-electric motor. Moreover, the boost function can give an additional 5kW of power with a simple press in the boost button for more speed. A conventional 220 volt socket can charge the car up to 80 percent in just 45 minutes and a fully charged battery ensures 125 kilometers of continuous drive. Additionally, the wind deflector features photovoltaic cells to lengthen the battery life.

The first impression of Guardian S Class speed boat, with its shape like a rifle bullet, may seem fast and powerful. But making it environment friendly has been more emphasized during the design process of the yacht concept considering the fact that a world without a living human due to massive global warming pollution may not need to be fast and powerful at all.

Guardian S Class is a carbon fiber solar hybrid vessel that gets power from the combination of a carbon Grossbauteile electric motor and an EPA car regulated Mercedes Benz Bluetec engine, making it 50% less fuel consuming and 100% GHG emission free in comparison with currently available technologies. It comprises a Lithium ion UPS that provides zero carbon cursing for up to 50 nautical miles, while the SunPower array plug-in generates enough energy to motor carbon neutral for around 1000 nautical miles a year. This yacht concept can easily become a milestone for the boat manufacturers to reduce 375 million metric tons of CO2 per year that has been recorded creating by recreational boats, thus massively reducing global warming pollution too.

The YikeBike is a smart urban personal transportation bike, designed to sustain in the increasing congested and busy city roads by employing state-of-the-art technology combined with superior industrial design and engineering. This electric bike costs only a few cents to charge per day supported by the latest nano lithium phosphate battery technology that is not only highly functional, but also aids the environment by featuring zero carbon emission. Aside from being powerful enough with its custom 1kW motor, the safety measure is ensured through anti-skid brakes, built-in lights and indicators, fast acceleration with a speed limit of 25 kph. The carbon fiber made super-strong bike weights only a bit over 10 kg with its 20 inch front wheel provides smooth and stable ride. To make it space efficient, the bike can be folded to a compact size in less than 15 seconds to fit almost anywhere.

The Toyota LINK is a customizable, affordable and mass transit vehicle concept for students with high demands of social networking. In the less appealing and more expensive transportation system of the year 2030, students with little-to-no income will be able to enjoy their commute in style through this vehicle. There will be different HUBs for the students to pick a LINK. Once taken, the vehicle will link seamlessly onto a transportation social network, through which the drivers can share their commute, listen to music or compare class timetables. The car allows the driver to personalize the exterior design with the help of Toyota’s latest electro fiber technology. Moreover, the electro conductive material can convert friction into energy that recharges the batteries while keep the environment save.
