The Electrolux last year design competition challenged students to come up with appliance designs of the future and one such interesting design was the Stratosphere. Designed by Budapest based Hungarian student Attila Sáfrány, Stratosphere is a design of a clothes rack. This rack helps in storing the clothes if to be used again and helps to maintain hygiene as it sucks off all the germs and micro pollutants out of the clothes and these goes to the filter placed in the device and out come a clean cloth which can be used again whenever desired. All in all it’s a nice and clean concept.

Still remember about Lavender Phone? Andrew Kim has designed another cool gadget, called Soma. The Soma MP3 player is a revolutionary product if one looks at the design aspect. As the designer says that the shape is something new as it breaks the conventional square design with an unconventional geometric design element. The device is named as ‘Soma’ which means touch. The design not just gives the device an elegant and dynamic look but also feels good to hold. The surface design flows into one another quite effortlessly and each seems to be complementing each other. The device is available in five different materials, each with its own sense of beauty.

Manta Craft is a uniquely designed watercraft which provides the user with an experience that is a blend of Jet Ski throttles and smooth surfing. The seating arrangement in this craft is created keeping in mind the fan factor. The rider will be able to sit comfortably and at the same time can come into close contact with water. It runs with an electric motor which makes it a cost-effective tool as there is no fuel purchase required. There are handles and hulls shaped like “Y” to control the throttles so that the user can customize the ride according to his convenience.
There is the solar/electric jet drive train, the body of the watercraft, the shin holsters and the thumb throttle handles. The solar/electric jet drive setup consists of four elements. These are the jet drive, the electric motor, the lithium-ion batteries and the solar panel.

The new single seater electric concept car by South Korean designer Jongpil Shin is expected to take the car designing to the next level. The USP of this compact car design is that it has certain emotional elements which constitute a part of it like the wrinkle that has been incorporated into the overall styling and functionality. Even though it’s a single seater vehicle, it still can accommodate two people easily thus transforming it into a two seater but in the process the wrinkle gets straightened. The wrinkle also helps in protecting the passengers in case of an accident as the same gets swelled up. So, all in all it is an emotionally safe vehicle.
