The Bosch 360 is a washer and dryer concept that utilizes a spherical drum which allows the clothes to be washed in all direction for maximum cleaning. The designers found that front loading machines clean better than top loading machines. But for rinsing, top loading are better because they work with centrifugal force and are more balanced. This is why their design solves both issues in washing. The Bosch 360 also utilizes a spherical shell that flows into a base. This creates a real eye catcher in the store. Once someone sees this round washer they will almost be forced to go look at it. Then they will notice the spherical drum which is the best part. After all if the spherical drum were in a “box” not half as many people would notice it right off.

This new revolutionary concept, designed by French designer Thomas Lemaire, called “Dry Blizzard” is the champagne case which is more or less a new technical approach for the high end champagne. The concept helps to keep the champagne chilled but without ice! It is done with a pool of dry ice at the bottom of the device which creates the cold effect thereby ensuring that the champagne is at desired temperature. The device has a battery and a small system that creates a current of cold air around the bottle. Also since it is in a case, the contact with the hot hand is avoided. So feel free and enjoy the sip of your chilled champagne!

With environment friendly issues being the prime concern for all designers so is this new charging device. This new battery charging device or Solar Pot makes use of solar energy to charge itself. All one has to do is to place the discharged cell inside the stem of this charging device and then the place the charging device in the sun. The device then takes up the solar energy and thereby charges the battery. This device helps in recycling the dry cells the natural way, which otherwise is one of the biggest environmental hazard. The Electrolux last year design competition challenged students to come up with appliance designs of the future and one such interesting design was the Stratosphere. Designed by Budapest based Hungarian student Attila Sáfrány, Stratosphere is a design of a clothes rack. This rack helps in storing the clothes if to be used again and helps to maintain hygiene as it sucks off all the germs and micro pollutants out of the clothes and these goes to the filter placed in the device and out come a clean cloth which can be used again whenever desired. All in all it’s a nice and clean concept.
