The Triclo is an innovative tricycle concept, featuring the functionality of a paddling tricycle, while offering the outlook of a futuristic transportation means. This vehicle is designed to make room for one person only and comprises paddles with a convenient sitting arrangement. The Triclo has a steering wheel instead of conventional tricycle handles and an innovative and unique rear wheel setup. It features a shade over the driver that will let the driver protected from the sun and mild rain.

Earlier this year, Toyota and Royal College of Art Students (RCA) have launched a creative partnership to promote innovative design for urban living, using Toyota’s new iQ city car as the inspiration. Students were asked to create an item that reflect the concept of ‘intelligent urban living’.
Yusuf Muhammad, was the winner of Living Room category and joint overall winner. His Yu Type design sits on the computer keyboard and allows ‘hunt and peck’ two fingered typists the opportunity to increase their speed and confidence. He is now thinking about developing the idea and hopes to include features like spell checking and predictive text to increase its appeal. Judges praised the way he addressed a social issue of an aging population within the urban context.

UK designer Michael Young’s new conceptual designs for the frequent traveler have only one thing all across it – ‘Convenience’. Suitably titled VOYAGE, it is made of stainless steel and the black ABS passport holder simply has space for all the necessary documents, and also has room for pen and credit cards. The other concept is that of the key-rings, with each key being held separately, so that one can identify them at a glance. Now to address the lost luggage issue, the third travel accessory in this concept is the luggage tag. It signifies smart thinking, with ease of use and elegance, all combined in this stainless steel design. And the black polycarbonate cap screws are securely in place with the metal tube that holds the name and address tag. These three contemporary solutions are sold individually. InTouch cell phone concept is part of Samsung Global Design Project, designed by a group with the member of Christina Droira, Lindsey Pickett and Molly Vivian-Coburn. They chose to explore the future of communication because they noticed a compelling opportunity area for a specific group of people, young professionals and recent college graduates (age 20-28, city dwellers). Privacy is a major problem with these individuals. It is almost impossible to count on having a private environment since most have to deal with roommates, riding public transportation, and sitting in a cubicle at work.
