The new two-seater NASA concept car is surely an eye catcher not just for its unique and innovative design but also in its ability to spin 360 degree at the same spot. This beauty has been designed by Czech designer students Marek Kedzierski and Michal Vlèek and has no doors! The upper portion of the car just lifts up as we have in the cockpit, even the seats are placed in the same manner, and quite innovative must say! One of the models that sure will grab eye balls at this year’s Festival of Speed at Goodwood would be the Citroën’s C-Métisse concept. Its appearance is the first in the UK for this 155mph supercar which made its debut at the 2006 Paris Motor Show.
It’s marked by front and rear gull-wing doors, with an cockpit that is “aviation-style”, the and is powered by a 208bhp V6 HDi diesel engine. Also there are two separate electric motors placed on the rear wheels, enabling a top speed of 155mph, and reaches 0-62mph in 6.2 seconds while producing a torque of 400Nm, all this while retaining exceptional fuel economy a whopping 45 miles per gallon on the combined cycle! and maintaining low-emissions. This stunning design from Stefan Schulze is what he calls Scuderia Bizzarrini Livorno p538 Barchetta. Schulze working in conjunction with Alan Mertens, who is a race-car engineer, along with Giotto Bizzarrini and Kevin Gallahan of Arbitrage Cars. The Arbitrage Cars are manufacturing a small series production for both the Barchetta and GT (hardtop) version. This version is based on their Arbitrage GT chassis. This design was approved by Giotto Bizzarrini
Bizzarrini for long has been associated with exclusive performance cars, and with their name being used in this 2008 concept, it adds a sense of history to the vehicle. While the ‘Livorno’ is taken from the Italian city in which Bizzarrini is residing currently. P538 in the car name is picked to pay homage to a limited race car which was built by Bizzarinni built in 1960’s.
