2-Seater Mobility Hybrid Concept Car with Spacious Cabin

This project is called Mobility Hybrid Concept Car, a 2-seater compact hybrid vehicle with spacious cabin where you can keep 2 collapsible pedelecs or pedal electric bikes under the boot. The batteries of these bikes can be charged in the car or a socket outlet, the bike and the car feature common design lines that reflect they are hybrids.

The main goal by integrating pedelecs in the car is to provide higher individual mobility allowing you to easily adapt to traffic in the city or countryside. Commuters can easily park their cars somewhere outskirts of the city and then continue their journey with pedelecs, avoiding rush hour traffic and parking space problem at the city center. Instead of using public transport, you would enjoy riding your bike while exploring the city.

Powered by a hybrid engine, this car offers small yet spacious cabin. The ability to store 2 collapsible pedelecs doesn’t sacrifice the storage space for your luggage. When you driving the car at high speed, the electric engine turns off and the combustion engine turns on. The car’s front and headlights change color based on the power mode: electric or fuel mode.

Cygo Electric Car Concept With Built-In 2-Bike Trunk Mount Rack

Cygo is an electric car concept that offers passengers the ability to take their bikes wherever they want, without having to install a bike rack. Yes, most often than not, this bike rack doesn’t fit the design of the car. The idea was to design a vehicle especially for people who love bike riding, people who commute every day to a bigger city to work, therefore, it’s an ideal vehicle for people who live about 10-50 km outside from the city.

This small city lightweight vehicle is powered by wheel-hub-engines. The aerodynamic cabin is designed for two people and 2 bikes which can be place at the bike mount rack located at the rear of the Cygo.

Volteis V+ is an electric vehicle that has been designed with “less and more” concept in mind. They are two words that are used to describe this unidentified rolling object by Philippe Starck and conceived by Volteis. Evolution Bike by Roel Verhagen Kaptein

This Evolution Bike concept tries to incorporate the best of existing bike designs, without their drawbacks. Recumbent bikes have a benefit of low wind resistance and a comfortable seating position, but the looks of these bikes are often questionable. The low models are barely visible in traffic, they need a lot of maintenance and are often pretty expensive.

City bikes and mountain bikes have good looks and a higher point of view witch is important in city traffic. However, when you have a head on wind on a long stretch of road, this model bike is not the most comfortable and fastest.

The Evolution Bike has all the benefits: low wind resistance, good looks, high point of view and very easy in maintenance. It’s been designed for anybody who rides a distance of 5 to 25 km on a regular basis.

Other innovative features from this Evolution bike design would its layout. The front hub with inline crank shaft and continuously variable transmission makes this layout possible.

El-Assist Is A Complete Concept For Recharging And Supporting Electric Vehicles

Electric vehicle designers usually miss few minute but important parts that reduce the overall efficiency of their product, such as incorporating large batteries to store enough charge for long distance travel which makes the car bigger and heavier, underutilizing the existing network and infrastructure, and most over, the increased crowd of private transportation reducing the opportunity of public transports to make more available for mass people.

El-Assist is an innovative transportation solution for electric bikes that has been designed to address all these small and mostly overlooked parts of electric vehicle concepts. The concept features two parts, the vehicle itself and the auto-piloted support shuttles. The existing technology of overhead trams or trolleybuses network has been fully utilized by enabling the support vehicle, a functional part of the concept, that acts as a connection station for the electric cars by charging them when traveling between cities. To reduce the number of private vehicles on street, this concept introduces a shared travel service where electric car owners would carry passengers in exchange of the electricity provided by the network. Aside from just charging electric vehicles, the support shuttle offers safety to the drivers by controlling speed or proximity to other objects and relieving the monotony and frustration of long distance drivers.

No, functionally, this is not one of those tiny wooden toys that you frequently see kids playing around. However, you can still consider Kart bike concept as a fun toy, while roaming around on it with style and convenience.

Folding bikes are quite common these days but the way it folds show the creativity of the designer. Kart bike features a four frame construction that folds and stacks on each other, making the transformation procedure easy and efficient. The shrinkable handle and the foldable pedals assist the folding process and the inclusion of a LED light enables the bike to be used in dark nights too. Once folded, you can carry this lightweight and ultra-portable bike to anywhere or drag it like a cart.

The innovative handlebar has been specially designed to play a key role in the bike sharing network and would be the only common part among the wide variety of bikes made of thousands of abandoned bikes. TFL Bikeshare Network Concept with Foldable E-Bike and Electrical Modular Buses

The TFL Bikeshare network concept outlines an efficient and healthy way to realize the ultimate solution for commuters. This concept comprises a foldable e-bike that can be rode from the home and deposited to modular mobile hub, and board a bus. Upon arrival at destination, another hub will be there to rent another bike through using the unique Oystercard which can be availed by leasing the service on a per trip or monthly basis.

Futuristic London Garden Foldable Electric Bicycle

London Garden is a concept car free zone in downtown London allowing bicycles and busses only as transportation means. In this connection, the designers have created an innovative transportation system combining a bike and a bus including the supporting infrastructure.

The bicycle is designed to generate energy when riding and this energy can be used as currency to pay for your bus rides. The bike electronically folds into the bus seat storage mode for space and weight efficiency and to fit on the bike stand. Bike stands can be found at the bus stops where the bikes will be stored securely in order to collect energy from the sun and wind. Moreover, it contributes energy to the bus system that was generated during riding and stored in inner batteries. Finally, the energy will be accumulated from all the bus stops into the London Garden network system, which is the Universal Electricity Network of this concept.

Winners of RCA Toyota iQ Design Challenge 2009

Earlier this year, Toyota and Royal College of Art Students (RCA) have launched a creative partnership to promote innovative design for urban living, using Toyota’s new iQ city car as the inspiration. Students were asked to create an item that reflect the concept of ‘intelligent urban living’.

Yusuf Muhammad, was the winner of Living Room category and joint overall winner. His Yu Type design sits on the computer keyboard and allows ‘hunt and peck’ two fingered typists the opportunity to increase their speed and confidence. He is now thinking about developing the idea and hopes to include features like spell checking and predictive text to increase its appeal. Judges praised the way he addressed a social issue of an aging population within the urban context.
