The new bicycle design by Torkel Dohmers has recently won the ‘commuter bike for masses’ design competition. The bicycle named “ThisWay” has been designed keeping in mind the safety and security of the rider from all sorts of situation. Care has been taken by designer to ensure that the rider is safe from weather as the concept has covered top thereby giving the concept an automobile like feel. Also the material used is light weight with the front and rear lights being operated by solar cell placed above the roof, space has been provided on the back for keeping luggage and other stuff. Quite a practical concept as the vehicle will be cost effective as the running cost is still lesser than that of the car.

With increase of vehicles on roads, it is but naturally shrinking the parking and the road space available for cars. Add to that the depleting natural resources, auto makers are trying to make concept cars that addresses both the problems. The 2-seater CityAnt seems to be a derivative of this thought as the vehicle runs on electricity. As per the designers it is an amicable solution for short distance rental service which can run on self service model which shall be controlled with membership. Looks wise it’s cute and the addition of alloy wheels is a boost in the overall look and feel of the car.

Check out this two-in-one concept designed by Believe. It is a folding bicycle which can also be used as a complete suitcase. Yes, this bike can be folded down into a suitcase within 10 seconds whenever you want it. This bike weighs 8 to 9 KG only. You can take it along with you easily while traveling because now you do not need to carry your luggage. Once you come out of airport, just transform your suitcase in a dork bike and simply ride home. This concept has already been brought into reality and is available for sale.

Not only this, Mini Crossover offers unconventional storage option and a more athletic feel when you drive. Car is made up of massive and matt polished aluminum. There is a folding roof cover and roof structure can be opened both from front as well as from the rear. So, overall anyone having this car is surely going to enjoy all the benefits of motoring together with complete comfort and pleasure.

Story behind this suitcase bike from the designer Gosha Galitsky : Being a big bicycle enthusiast, it always bothered me to see how little cooperation exists between public transport and bicycles. It seems to be a perfect solution for commuting- an alliance between safe intercity transport (such as trains, buses and airplanes) and short-range non polluting bicycles which can zip you through the congested city like a breeze and park in your room or your cubicle at work.However, I only saw this harmony take place in some places in Europe (Italy is especially biker- friendly) and in some areas of the US, mostly on the west coast. All this in spite of rising awareness for environmental issues, growing congestion within city limits and an immense growth in the popularity of cycling for commuting as well as for sport.
