The Egg is a concept kitchen that will offer necessary functionalities so that anyone can become an expert chef. With simple, clean and natural shape, the Egg concept provides both aesthetic and functional significance for future houses and users. The kitchen is consists of three wings, vapor washing wing provides cool water rapid jet that sprayed automatically when hands are detected, induction wing features low energy, no heat and high-end cooking, and preparation wing is an interactive panel which provides necessary information about the elements on the surface. The center is a holographic projector that contains information database and battery modules inside. The Egg features Interactive Holographic Projection (IHP) that allows the user to watch and learn various cooking styles, find new recipes online, customize graphic outlines on the egg shell and control various options for preparation, induction and washing wings.

Earlier this year, Toyota and Royal College of Art Students (RCA) have launched a creative partnership to promote innovative design for urban living, using Toyota’s new iQ city car as the inspiration. Students were asked to create an item that reflect the concept of ‘intelligent urban living’.
Yusuf Muhammad, was the winner of Living Room category and joint overall winner. His Yu Type design sits on the computer keyboard and allows ‘hunt and peck’ two fingered typists the opportunity to increase their speed and confidence. He is now thinking about developing the idea and hopes to include features like spell checking and predictive text to increase its appeal. Judges praised the way he addressed a social issue of an aging population within the urban context.

Vesta Cooktop can be folded flat or vertically against the wall and out of the way when not in use to offer a larger working space. This appliance also contains a scanner that can read RFID chips which helps in providing information about cooking, times and temperatures and even recipe suggestions. Adam Brodowski from USA has designed “Sook”, a wireless kitchen assistant concept that displays and shares different recipes and allows you to connect to your social networking websites with the help of internet access on this device. “Sook” uses a series of sensors to sense what food is kept nearby or on its cutting board. Apart from measuring weight and moisture, it also includes an electronic tongue that tastes and examines food so that all the ingredients can be mixed in a better way. This device is waterproof and be washed like your other utensils. Pretty futuristic concept, especially with “electronic tongue”, very cool. Just buy your favorite food from restaurant, put it near Sook, and voila … you will get the secret ingredients and you can share it with your friends automatically.
