Recently I gifted this camera to my 3 year old cousin on thanksgiving and already it seems to be a must have for him at all times. He carries it all along and trust me, I am no more the super hero because this teeny little camera has replaced me. Having said that, this small wonder can be deemed as a good thought by manufacturers to allow kids to start early. Check out these Holcim Award Winners for North America announced in Montreal. The competition was held in 5 regions of the world on the Foundation for Sustainable Construction. There were almost 5000 projects from 90 countries that participated to encourage building constructions by keeping in mind technological, environmental, socio-economic, and cultural issues. Some of the projects are just unbelievable as they feature innovations that can be applied in homes and other buildings in order to contribute to today’s climate and energy challenges. The new hotel, conference, and exhibition complex is coming up in the emirate of Ras Al-Khaimah, United Arab Emirates can be nominated for the designer masterpiece. Designed by Nowergian architects Snøhetta, this 150km construction is expected to begin later this year. Right in the middle of the complex is the proposed 200 m tower which is a setting for a 5 star hotel which will offer panoramic view of the emirates. The space shall be utilized for various purposes as it can be developed for conference center, hotel and other commercial activities. One thing is for sure that this will be one of the most advanced centers in Dubai.

Plica is a conceptual phone that uses 2 screens instead of one, and has the advantage of shape as it is dimensionally the same as regular phone. Plica phone concept is trying to offer a better design compared to iPhone which has many complains on its size of the interface, which is too small for some people’s hand. Splitting it into two allows you to dedicate one of the touch screens as a keyboard and the other as a touch monitor. You can also view a single web page or image across both screens. This could be the next evolution in mobile electronics.
