1. Cardiac Rehabilitation Monitor System

This CRM System combines elastic fabric electrodes and comfortable knit fabric to provide sternum support and monitor heart rate variability (HRV). The minimalist design of this functional monitor allows it to be comfortably and discreetly concealed under the clothes of the wearer. The system uses Bluetooth to transmit signals to an app, which allows users to independently manage their health. This CRM System has passed the required bio-compatibility (ISO10993-5, -10) and electrical safety (EN606061-1) tests, and has been granted CE safety certification.

2. Espresso Urban Bike

Espresso Urban Bike is designed specifically for urban living in Asian cities. The frame geometry of Gearlab’s Espresso caters to East Asian proportions, ensuring a comfortable and confident ride for Asian owners. The choice of smaller wheels with 20-inch rims means the bike accelerates faster, an essential function in the stop-and-go traffic systems typical in Asian cities. These small wheels also make the bike easier to carry in and out of tight living spaces. The bike is comfortable and has a place for bags and personal belongings, a simple locking solution, and stunning aesthetics.

Given the high rate of bicycle theft in cities, Espresso comes with a specially designed lock as standard. This is a high-quality product with thoughtful design.”

3. FO-1103-P

Modern office lighting consumes far more energy than is actually necessary. A well designed office lighting system can provide an efficient light source for a working environment. All lights in the FO-1103 Office Series are made from aluminum, are adjustable, and are minimalist in design. The angle of the light and the color temperature can be adjusted by remote control. The FO-1103-P is a dexterous pendant light: the body of the lamp can rotate upwards to 180 degrees and downwards to 15 degrees. The lighting mode is flexible and can be adjusted to suit the usage needs of any given space. Available modes include down lighting, centralized lighting, two-directional lighting, and indirect lighting.

The FO-1103-P is a true product of the future; to install this fixture, a designer needs to work with a lighting specialist who will link it up to all the other electronic devices common in today’s home. It is a concept that fits perfectly with the IOT (Internet of Things) methodology.”

4. Here I Am Sticky Note

Here I Am turns a 2D post-it note into a 3D note through folding. The space saved in the folding process creates more writing areas and enhances the efficiency of the product. The triangle shapes are sticky on all sides, and no matter where they are used, they are easy to find. Here I Am was developed to improve working and noting efficiency.

5. Modelshop Wooden ARToy- Panda

The wooden model, Panda, is engaging from the moment the package is opened until the final pieces are fitted together. The toy combines humor, ingenuity, and art to bring pleasure to the senses while at the same time rewarding the maker with a feeling of accomplishment. Through innovative design practices and making use of mechanical principles, the finished Panda springs into life when a crank is turned. The automata is made from precision-cut, environmentally friendly materials and can be assembled without having to use glue or sharp tools. The latest technology is used to manufacture the curved parts from reconstituted wood. The model can be assembled by people of all ages: the process of building Panda by hand encourages patience and focus.

I’m a big fan of anything that encourages children to use their creativity and their dexterity to build something, and then experience what happens after they’ve built it. The fact that it’s made from environmentally friendly materials such as wood and not plastic is nice as well. In a world where toys are traditionally made of plastic, it’s important that children get to touch and feel products like this.”

“We all have smartphones. We’re all recording large amounts of video and photos on our phones. To have a device that then allows us to view those images and those videos in a format that is outside of our screen is really in demand. They’ve managed to squeeze a lot of technology into a very small footprint. It’s a very intuitive little product as well. I could pick it up, switch it on, and within seconds I was operating it. There was no instruction book and the interface was in Chinese, but it was intuitive enough that I could still use it and to me that’s a sign of good design.”

7. SYL958 Loader

The SYL958 Loader features an edgeless door cab design; a built-in, integral Roll Over Protective Structures (ROPS) and Falling Object Protective Structures (FOPS) design; a visualization central electrical box; and a Parker fingertip operating system. The cab is sealed against the intrusion of dust to protect the health of the operator, and noise is reduced to a level 6 dB lower than other machines in China. A two-stage damper system with four-point suspended installation guarantees a comfortable operating experience. Daily service and maintenance points can be easily reached from the ground. The service life of key components is improved with the inclusion of an advanced technology DANA rotor type gearbox, a drive axle for heavy mining machines, and a reinforced heavy-duty vehicle body structure. An efficient fixed-variable confluence high-pressure system results in energy reductions of over 10 percent. The internally-pressurized oil tank stays cleaner for longer, resulting in a longer service life and less frequent oil changes. Recyclable materials and lead-less paint are incorporated across the machine.

Side by Side Handle for Wheelchair Allows Caregiver to Walk Alongside The Person Seated in The Chair

Have you ever heard a joke where a wife keeps complaining that her husband talks behind her back and pushes her around, well, the husband says “what do you expect? You’re in a wheelchair”. Yeah, that’s why Side by Side concept extension handle is a smart idea. It’s actually a simple extension handle for wheelchair but it allows caregiver to walk alongside the person seated in the chair instead of walking behind. In this way, they both can have eye contacts, face to face conversation, this is really important especially when taking care kids with special needs, they need to communicate with their surroundings and guardians. All this is made possible with an extension handle designed by Tammy Kalinsky, the concept handle design was influenced by children’s bicycle, it also features a horn and flash light so that children can also take part of the walk and have great interactive experience.

nThree Electric Vehicle Offers The Comfort of A Car with The Cost of An E-Bike

nThree electric vehicle aims to provide you with affordable, personal vehicle that features the comfort of a car yet with the cost of an e-bike. It sounds pretty ambitious and interesting, doesn’t it? Let’s read what these designers have to say about the project.

Following the recent electric revolution of lightweight vehicles around the world, the nThree is a new design, following the very successful nCycle e-bike concept. With the irreversible process of global economies turning towards renewable energy, the way we see and use the city has already changed and is set to do so dramatically in the next few years.

With our increased awareness and sensitivity towards energy consumption, courtesy among others of the most recent economic crisis, in the last 4-5 years, personal transportation has begun a slow but steady drift away from the model we have come to know in the past century. The 10s and hundreds of new e-bikes and electric cars like the Renault Twizy or Toyota i-Road have shown the way to a more personal and conscious approach. Our new concept builds on the characteristics and refines the strengths of these vehicles to bring electric power even closer to the mass market.

Small electric cars, tricycles and quadricycles all suffer from the same inherent drawback; they are meant to be cheap and affordable but they end up being expensive like real cars because they are BUILT like real cars. The mission on the nThree was to address these conceptual and design shortcomings and design an affordable, single-seat electric vehicle that would offer all (or most) of the comforts of an electric car at the cost of an e-bike.

To achieve the objectives, the nThree electric vehicle was built with a simplistic approach reminiscent on the nCycle. In first place, the vehicle was reduced to the most essential stable geometry of three wheels to reduce cost. Even though the latest small electrics are a great way to move around the urban areas, there is something about these offerings that does not look great at all: Price. Starting from about 7000 Euros and above these 1-2 seaters cost almost as much as a cheap standard car and more than many used ones in good condition.

P.F.U.V : Futuristic Personal Folding Urban Vehicle Concept for The Year of 2040

Designed for the year 2040 this vehicle solves a mayor problem for every city in the future, space. Only 30% longer than a standard bicycle, P.F.U.V (Personal Folding Urban Vehicle) has the ability of folding itself when not in use for reducing space to a minimum. When folded, this vehicle can be stacked in front of one another for parking.

Most people use a big car for transporting only themselves from point A to B, and cars spend most of the day parked, wasting a lot of space. Utilizing electric motors on each wheel, this vehicle reduces pollution to zero. This is why P.F.U.V transports only one person and folds itself for parking. The chassis is made out of high tech materials, metal ceramics, each hole in the structure is calculated for reducing weight to a maximum without sacrificing the chassis strength.

Floow by Flex – It’s Not a Car or Bicycle but It Could Be The Future of Our Transportation

With the chain drive and bicycle pedals you get the necessary exercise when using FLOOW. The EBIQ Electric Bike Can Charge Personal Electric Gadgets

The key purpose of the EBIQ Electric Bike concept is to complement the environment by reducing the amount of CO2 unlike traditional cars or motorcycles and offering a battery powered bicycle to ensure convenient short distance commuting in city/metro areas. To make it even more functional, the bike enables the rider to charge their laptop, cellphone and other personal electric gadgets. Moreover, the built-in screen at the steering can provide direct access to the user’s laptop to gain necessary information at any moment. Bicycle Design for People with Disabilities

Bicycle designer Gavin Smith has come up with a new bicycle design that will help people with disabilities to ride the bicycle independently. Sometimes disabilities like cerebral palsy can affect the basic motor functions such as balancing which results in their inability to ride a regular bicycle. The bicycle is designed such that the supports automatically allow them to balance and operate the same effortlessly. The design also instills confidence so that they can ride the bike without any assistance. Overall this is a good effort for community development and a nice thought which is a welcome change from all those high end concept cars.

Collapsible Bicycle Concept by Blair Hasty

The collapsible bicycle concept designed by Blair Hasty was primarily designed as a vehicle for daily transport usage. Featured in the 2004 International Bicycle Design Competition in Taiwan the concept has the pedals shifted to behind the driver so the overall weight transfers from the lower back to forearms and pelvic bone and the posture while the rider is prostrate while riding the bike. The designer has utilized the space by placing a large bag at the creating thus creating storage space for the rider. Also to add on it is collapsible and the bag comes handy then. So no need to look for parking space, take it straight to your workstation, plus it is healthier for your body by using bicycle for daily activities.

IZZY Plastic City Bike for Your Green Solution to Personal Travel

IZZY plastic city bike with a new look, made out of plastic, inbuilt safety, security and comfort features. To enhance the urban cycling experience and to provide:an innovative, alternative and stylish design; a healthy and green solution to personal travel; and a credible alternative to the car, perfect for urban lifestyle.

Omer Sagiv, the designer (currently work for Ron Arad in London), explained that this bike has 2 unique free standing locking systems, 3 dimensional illumination and integrated rear suspension are all inbuilt, providing cheap and simple solutions to problems that every urban bike rider experiences and have been designed with the urban rider in mind. The unique design and development of a molded plastic frame allows the bicycle to incorporate all of the innovative features within its fluid and fluent shape. Furthermore, the IZZY bike owner will be able to recycle the main frame, thus revamping the color of the bicycle – simply, cheap, and with regard to the environment.

Hi-CT Hybrid Car Concept from Toyota

First impression at Toyota Hi-CT car might not make you say “wow”, well we agree that the design is somehow not as stylish as we expect it. On the other hand, Toyota’s team of you Japanese and European designers claimed that Hi-CT is a reflection of what a cool and great vehicle should look like, they want to create something that make people stop and take a good look.

The Hi-CT is a plug-in hybrid with a 1.5L motor and uses lithium-ion batteries, which are located underneath the floor of the vehicle in order to maximize the interior space of the car. While it looks quite boxy and big, it is in fact quite small. The entire vehicle is 3.3 meters long, 1.6 meters wide and 1.7 meters high. It is, effectively, a cube on wheels. Due to the tiny size, it can only carry two persons. However, being a “lifestyle” car, there’s enough space inside it for everything that an active user or two could need. The rear trunk can be modified so that surfboards, bicycles and camping equipment can be carried around for those days where you need to get out to nature.

Looking at inside of the car, we might hear you say “wow” because of its futuristic design, the exterior now doesn’t seem to matter anymore.

Taku Tanku Traveling Little House Made Out of Water Tank

Taku Tanku is a cool little house constructed out of 3,000-liter water tanks. It’s an extremely light house that can be carried by one or two person, by bicycle, by car, or by boat. This project was especially designed and engineered as part as “Little House” competition in Saitama, Japan.

Taku Tanku is able to travel through many landscapes, up to 2-3 users can enjoy this shelter, especially outdoors. Aside from being companion to your great adventure, this little house also serves as a sculpture piece that celebrates the vital role of water in our lives. There’s a little compartment between the wheels where you can keep your luggage, the solar powered LED lights harness the sun’s energy during the day and emit light at night. You can enjoy fresh air or the warmth of the sun by opening hatch windows, the wood flooring creates cozy environment.

Leveraged Freedom Chair for Disabled People in Developing Countries

Standard wheelchair is not enough when you have to go through rough terrain, this is the problem that Leveraged Freedom Chair wants to tackle. To millions of disabled people, wheelchair is a great aid for mobility, what if we can increase the flexibility of this chair regardless nature’s condition? This idea makes Continuum to work together with MIT’s Mobility Lab to design the next generation of LFC or Leveraged Freedom Chair as a high-performance wheelchair for disabled people in developing countries.

LFC design allows the chair to move effortlessly beyond pavement, with conventional push-rim wheelchair, it would be really hard to move beyond flat or smooth ground. LFC takes advantage of chain and sprocket drive train of a bicycle in combination with 2 extend push levers, thus allowing user to move more than 30% faster on flat ground while getting 53% higher torque on rough surfaces. This ability provides great sense of emotional independence for its users.
