Orbit Vacuum Cleaner by Sean McConnell

Orbit is a redesign of the traditional vacuum cleaner. Through months of research the top issues with conventional vacuum cleaners were discovered and set as the top priorities for the project. It is designed to solve some of the biggest problem’s people currently have with modern vacuum cleaners. It utilizes its shell as large wheels to allow it to move gracefully over obstacles such as door saddles. The placement of the 2 kW motor at the base gives it an extremely low center of gravity to ensure that it can maneuver its way past objects in the home such as tables, chairs and doorways.

One of the issues discovered is that people do not know what a HEPA filter is or what they do. The ease of access to our filter ensures that people will see what their filter is doing and that it is necessary to keep it clean.

One of the major aims of the project was to make this as viable as possible and not just a concept, as such all the parts are designed to be molded, assembled and ultimately disassembled with ease. All the parts were sourced and estimates were accounted for with the final design as such to keep the product within a certain budget given a certain production run order.
