Designed by Inno-Partners and TINIKO, NONNOS injects insulin to user’s body not through needle but through absorption onto the wrist’s skin. In principle, when an infrared lamp applies heat to a porous TiNi (nitinol) shape memory alloy that is transplanted in a living body, insulin inside porous body can be absorbed onto skin tissue through a capillary phenomenon. This process simplifies and minimizes potential of mistake from self-administered injections since this device can detect patient’s condition and blood sugar levels.
