Limousine Yacht Tender Features Two Separately Actuated Roofs

The limousine tender by Denis Popov is an answer to the demand for multipurpose superyacht tenders that truly reflects the custom nature of the superyacht industry. Built for an 83.5m yacht, the 9.3m tender is meant to combine all the advantages of an open day boat and a luxurious limousine and to be stored on board of the mothership.

The design includes two separately actuated roofs that define the tender’s functionality and allow for an exceptionally low storage height. It only takes one push of a button to position the roofs into one of the three options. Firstly, raising the coachroof and the Bimini create a fully functional limousine with two separate decks. When the Bimini is raised above the aft deck using a smartly concealed pantograph mechanism, one gets a versatile tender with two open decks. And finally, in order to fit the tender into the yacht’s garage, both roofs need to be lowered down into the hull, bringing the total storage height to 1.55m.

The vessel’s layout is mainly defined by two areas: the front limousine interior and the open aft deck with an adjustable seating arrangement. The main interior is placed towards the bow where a 3m long U-shaped bench can accommodate up to 12 guests. It includes a panoramic roof, continuous LED lighting, climate control, and a multimedia system. The aft deck, with a folding transom and two removable benches, is designed to become a multifunctional platform for leisure and water sport activities.

Being made from carbon fiber, she was meant to facilitate the entire range of diverse activities that the yacht owners pursue during their stay on board. The tender is made solely out of pre-preg carbon fiber and weighs only 3.5 tons. The lightweight design allows for a single engine with bow thruster set-‐up and a max speed of 39 knots.
