Kodo Alarm Clock Infuses Technology Into Pottery Object

Kodo is a concept pottery ceramic clock designed as part of a vision how we can blend technology with nature into a functional object. With all modern technology around us that keep us connected 24hrs/day, busy, and always in a rush, how about a high-tech product that could help us to slow down, disconnect, and synchronize with our natural rhythm. Submitted by Pascal Grangier, this project wants to explore how we can use technology to create more emotional and intuitive relationships with our surroundings.

Inspired by the pottery world, Pascal Grangier explains that Kodo is like a familiar object in your home. It brings a contemporary touch and joyful experience through subtle interactions. Kodo ceramic clock is equipped with sensors that can dim the light of your room, synchronize the time, and wake you up with the sun. It slowly reduces distraction caused by your smartphone. A simple tap turns the alarm off, at night, Kodo can slowly dim the light in the room, helping you to maintain your natural sleeping cycle.

It’s future vision of Grangier where high-tech products would become more emotional, personal, and intuitive to our surroundings.
