Iris Robotic Delivery System Proposal for Amazon

Since Amazon shared its plan to deliver goods using drones, there are many designers around the world want to submit their design proposals for this company future delivery system, such as Ford Autolivery, Delivery Drone concept, or Robot Cargo. One of these ambitious projects would be Iris.

Iris concept delivery system features two-part system that allows online retailers not just Amazon to deliver ordered items directly to your condo using pilotless drone carriers. These drone carries are located on top of modified mid-sized automated metros. This futuristic delivery system aims to speed up delivery time from the distribution center, which is usually located in the city’s industrial district, to buyer condominium’s balcony. This special transportation system could become reality since it can use existing rail infrastructure and technology.

The main trains would run on electric motors, they can recharge the batteries through wireless inductive charging stations located along the rail tracks. The interior is designed just like a cargo bay, all goods can be neatly organized for faster delivery. There are robotic conveyors that would help arrange the items to the roof so that deliver drones would easily pick them up to buyer’s destination.
