I'd like to say the design you created is great! I love the sleek, stream-line yet creative truck you've designed.

I wish you all the best with it!

@ Stephen Russell

Thanks, that would be a great application!

@ SuperSparky

Thanks for the comment. While, the concept's super low clearance is mainly for aesthetics, trailers don't need to be so high as to allow a small car to fit underneath. Furthermore, a low slung body would not only reduce drag, but fuel consumption as well.

The idea behind the maneuverability concept is that longer trailers can be used. This would allow hauliers to carry more cargo.

Looks cool, but is not practical.

Trucking today is cheap and modular. The trailers are high enough off the ground to cover most reasonable terrain, even short dirt road drives. Maneuverability isn't so hard if the driver is skilled. They key is backing in.

Most of trucking in the USA is shipping and dropping off the entire trailer and then getting another trailer off to the next destination. Such a specialized design would never be profitable enough for the smaller businesses that drop off product and keep the trailer.

Looks great, but not even remotely practical nor driveable on any road but a runway.

We can use this truck but raise trailer & chassis, love steerable trailer, why not apply to FD Longladder trucks alone.
No more reardriver FD long ladder trucks.

Thanks for the comments guys!

@ Navarr

The concept aims to replace conventional mirrors with cameras. One set of cameras are located at the front of the cab while another is located at the front of the trailer. A split screen (which would be placed in front of the driver at the eye level) would display the images received from the cameras.

@ Adam

The concept is a long-distance truck meant for use on highways. Highways usually have small gradients. Nevertheless, the low clearance and super low profile tires would probably not make production...

You cant have a super long low rider truck. it will get stuck on the first hill transition.

Nice idea, but...

How do they see behind and to the side of them without mirrors?
