Honda Monkey is an iconic mini-bike that was first developed as a 49cc child’s play for an amusement park in Tokyo. It was so widely popular that Honda decided to develop the road-going version. The popularity was based on its cute and likable design, as you can see, it features tiny size with ultra light weight, making it fun to cruise around town. Over the years, Honda has managed to redesign this mini-bike with better and smarter technology, it has gained even greater popularity.
In 2018, the company redesigns Honda Monkey mini-bike to fit present day, it features style that draws heavily on the original but with modern touches. It is equipped with USD forks, twin rear shocks, IMU-based ABS, LED lighting, and LCD instruments. Powered by 125cc air-cooled engine, this bike has 6.9kW power with fuel efficiency of 67km/liter. It weighs at just 107kg.
Honda Monkey is easy to ride and fun, it has mini-ape style handlebars with miniscule tank and big, squashy seat. The glossy 5.6L fuel tank is painted with the same color as the frame, swing arm, and rear shocks, it also wears the iconic 3-D Old Wing design Honda logo. The affection it has is timeless. There are few details such as rear mudguards, exhaust shield, circular mirrors, all are designed in a way to pay tribute to the original.
The cockpit features a digital full-LCD circular meter that displays speedometer, odometer, fuel level indicator. All lighting is LED with “wave” pattern key that has “answer back” system, allowing this bike to flash its light with push of a button for easy location in crowded parking space.
