Futuristic Stingray Spacecraft Design Proposal for Disney

This cool and futuristic spacecraft was inspired by stingray, hence the name. It’s a concept design for Disney Tomorrowland, which we believe it would fit really well in the movie. You can read the explanation of this project below.

The Stingray Spacecraft was initially one of my proposals for the Disney movie Tomorrowland. I did a lot of work on the movie however this proposal was not chosen. My inspiration for the design was obviously a stingray but also being a senior creative car designer for GM I wanted to infused some hints and features from the iconic 60’s Corvette Stingray and classic Chevy tail lamps. (you can see in the image of details).

The design had to portray the most basic and recognizable silhouette of the marine creature especially in top view as if the vessel is gliding in the air from above you and would give you the sense that you’re deep in the pacific ocean. On second reads, the spacecraft showcases these iconic classic Chevy Stingray features that are more automotive. It’s a blend between animal and machine.
