Submitted by Matus Prochaczka, this is a concept car design for American-based open wheel racing championship. You can read his explanation about this project below.
Story behind: If the Indycar design will evolve in “my way of design”, maybe until 2020, the Alonso can participate again, and eventually he could be a winner.
Design of car is coming up from Indycar’s DNA. This car should be able to withstand huge impacts in crazy racing speeds on ovals, that’s why it has bigger size than F1 proportions. The rear wheels are covered with half-opening cover, meaning the tires are still exchangeable – but the back wheels are better protected against puncture by contact with front wing of other cars. The concept also contains future ring wheels and hybrid engine. The rest of the car is more or less shape concept study with not so much attention to aerodynamic details and formula rules, but new attitude to shapes and overall look. Simply going out from engineer look and more from designer.
